1. Introduction :
    Founded in     1975, the department of architectural engineering has made significant

contributions to the development of Korean architectural culture for not only a local commun ity

but also a whole nation. Many valuable studies and various academic performances conducted by
this program have established great reputation for theoretical and practical developments in

Korean architecture and construction . Alumni receiving a solid ed ucation in fundamentals and in -

depth knowledge of architectural engineering have been w orking as architects in prominent

design firms, professional architectural engineers in top-ranked construction firms, and faculties

in academic institutions.

    * Others : The Design   Studio 'Factory' aims at the true professional education; that is,
     fundamentally, cultivating individual potentials(educe) and acute practice(profess). The

      Studio avoids three major conventions inherited from old design tradition                  such

      as ocularcentrism, mono-culturalism, authoritative did acticism in teaching and learning.

      Instead, the studio encourages each crew to obtain an intellectual ability grasping the

      overall idea of architectural substance, to be equipped w ith proper knowledge and critical

      eyes for history and culture, and to maint ain independently the spirit of investigation and

      invention. In order to realize above mentioned ideal, the studio provides diverse

      interdisciplinary studies and independent international exchange programs, not only

     academically but also practically, with countries including Russia and China, USA and

     France. Lastly the studio operates off-campus design venture atelier to establish true

     professional education. Since 1996 when the Factory was founded, almost 70 graduates

     have been produced. They are presently taking a leading position to serve as faithful

     architects, professors, government employees, and researchers at home and abroad.

      membrane structure, hybrid structure and new generation large spatial structure
      system is carrying on, A wide range of analytical theories about fo rmulation o f
      nonlinear theo ry, deve lopment o f structural analysis program, earthquake and
      wind resistant design are under researching and conducting. Together w ith
      several other inte rnal unive rsities , it has become the base fo r stud ying advanced
      architecture theo ry in our country.

  *Others : Innovative Construction Management and Technology Laboratory (ICM&T Lab) has
  established an academic excellence by conducting valuable researches since 1999. ICM&T Lab has
  produced outstanding research findings related to improvement of construction procedures and
  methods as result of effective utilization of construction resources.
  ICM &T Lab especially makes an emphasis on emerg ing construction management methodologies for

  an excellent control of all construction activities through whole life cycles of construction projects. The
  group investigates appropriate state-of-the-art methods and tools for cost decrease, duration reduction,
  productivity increase, quality imp rovement, and safety enhancement. The group also works on
  construction automation and robotics by research joints with the construction firms and institu tions.
  ICM &T Lab will make a big step into further researches for accomplish ment of construction
  production imp rovement with continued efforts for develop ment of the advanced construction
  technology and its practical application to construction fields.
