									Introduction to Dementia
Aims and Objective:
To provide the health care worker with an understanding of Dementia and the knowledge and
skills to appropriately care for the client with Dementia

Learning Outcomes:
Following this study day, the health care worker will:
   •   Be able to list the types of Dementia
   •   Know how the diagnosis is made
   •   Have a knowledge of the effects on the service user
   •   Have considered the challenges that the effects of the illness poses on care in general
   •   Have begun to consider strategies to deal with these challenges



Target group:
Health and Social Care workers who wish to develop their understanding of Dementia
