SUMMARY: Tuesday, October 6th, is the National Day of Resistance Against Military Recruiters.
Anti-war and anti-military groups are calling for all young persons to confront and protest against
military recruiters throughout the country. Although no set, organized protest has been launched,
sites such as www.wearenotyoursoldiers.org and www.worldcantwait.net are promoting a national
rise against military recruiters.
The following excerpt was taken from National Day of Resistance Against Military Recruiters page
on Facebook:
“Imagine if school administrations and teachers didn’t allow recruiters onto campus.
Imagine if students looked at recruiters as the predators they are and no longer considered
the Army a legitimate “career option.” We need a culture of defiance and resistance to
military recruiters in high schools across the country.

Don’t be fooled! These wars are just as bad under President Obama as they were under
George Bush. This culture of resistance needs to start October 6!

No matter where you are, you have a voice! Whether we resist military recruiters has
everything to do with the future we’ll get.

On Tuesday, October 6 students can:

               * Wear an orange bandanna or ribbon (the color against torture and war) to show there's a
               movement
               * Show a film of Iraq veterans telling about the war crimes the US military committed.
Invite anti-war veterans to talk to your class or assembly. WeAreNotYourSoldiers.org
               * Confront military recruiters at your school or in the mall, telling them why you refuse
to sign up, so that other students hear your side.
               * Protest at a military recruiting office and call the media to let them know why.”

CONCLUSION: Recruiting centers and police alike should be aware of persons wearing orange
bandanna and/or ribbons in their hair, on their head, around their wrists, around their necks, etc.
Although the National Day of Resistance Against Military Recruiters associated organizations do not
promote violence, followers may take aggressive actions towards military recruiters and their
offices. These groups promote stopping recruiters from attending high schools, from being on or
around school premises, sit-in in front of military establishments, and physical blockades at
recruitment centers, bases and posts. Not only should military recruiters be aware but also anyone
wearing a military uniform they can be mistaken as a recruiter or just be confrontationally approach
as a military member and be protested against. Use precaution but no action is necessary unless
warranted.
The National Capital Regional Intelligence Center (NCRIC) does not believe this incident has a
nexus to terrorism. The NCRIC will send Alert Follow-Up(s) if new information develops. NCRIC
recommends that officers make contact with recruiting center(s) personnel in their respective district
and collaborate in situational awareness on this matter.
