SUPPLEMENTARY REGULATIONS JURISDICTION
Held under the general competition rules and standing supplementary regulations of MSA and these
supplementary regulations plus further instructions which may be issued by the organisers.

3.VENUE & COURSE:
The Zone 7 track is situated off the N7 past claybrick, turn right into Van Schoorsdrift Road (ostrich farm) travel 1km, track on right
hand side. The course surface comprises of sand, jumps, straights etc. and is between O.5km and 1.8km in length. Circuit will be
closed 7 days before the event.
4.EVENT AND STATUS:
The event will be a Regional/ Club championship event and will cater for the following classes provided that the
classes comply with the minimum number of starters as per regulations:
1. Club Class Only: Newbie class (4 – 9) any 2 or 4 stroke auto clutch 50cc motorcycle, first time licence
holder and rider. The CTMX committee will determine when the rider moves to the correct class.
2. Club Class Only: 50cc auto clutch (4 -7 years shaft drive only)shaft driven with a maximum 12mm
carburettor size. 10” front and rear wheels.
3. Club Class Only: MX Junior (50cc auto clutch air cooled 4 – 8 years) air cooled carburettor size maximum
14mm. Rear 10” and 12” front wheels.
4. Club Class Only: MX Senior (50cc auto clutch pro water cooled 5 – 9 years) machine capacity may not
exceed 51cc. Maximum 19mm carburettor. Rear 10” and 12” front wheels
5. Club Class Only: Auto 80cc (6 – 11) 80cc 2 stroke/ 110cc 4 stroke
6. Club Class Only: Junior motorcycle off road support class (8 – 12 years) (a) Junior motorcycle 85cc class –
Maximum capacity is 86cc 2-stroke (small wheel) or 125cc 4-stroke air cooled. (b) Junior motorcycle 65cc
- Maximum capacity is 66cc 2- stroke or 81cc 4-stroke.
7. Regional and Club Class: MX65cc (7 –11 years)machine may not exceed 65cc. Rear 12” and 14” front
wheels.
8. Regional and Club Class: MX Junior 85cc 2 stroke (8 – 12 years)only motorcycles of capacity and not
exceeding 80/85cc 2- stroke. Wheel diameter not to exceed rear 14” and 17” front wheels.
9. Regional and Club Class: MX Pro mini 85cc 2- stroke and 150cc 4- stroke (11 – 15 years)only motorcycles
with an engine capacity of 80/85cc 2- stroke and 150cc 4- stroke. Wheel diameter not to exceed 16” rear
and 19” front.
10. Regional and Club Class: MX 125cc (from 13 years) 2- stroke motorcycles not exceeding 126cc. Minimum
wheel diameter 18” rear and 21” front.
11. Regional and Club Class: MX 2 motorcycle capacity 125cc 2- stroke from14 years old or 250cc 4-stroke
capacity from 16 years and older. Wheel diameter 18” rear and 21” front.
12. Club Class Only: MX3 Veterans – motorcycles of unlimited capacity(riders who have turned 29
years)(combined with masters)
13. Club Class Only: MX Masters – motorcycles of unlimited capacity (riders who have turned 37
years)(combined with MX3 veterans)
14. Regional and Club Class: MX1 (Open senior) (16 years and older) - motorcycles capacity 250 cc to 450cc
any stroke. Minimum wheel diameter 18” rear and 21” front.
15. Club Class Only: Intermediate – 2- stroke motorcycles from 125cc and all 4- stroke motorcycles.
Motorcycles with a wheel diameter of not less than 18” rear and 21” front. Open to riders 14 years and
older who have not competed in a junior or senior moto x regional or national championship. First time
riders and licence holders of a club licence only.
16. Club Class Only: Enduro – motocycles of unlimited capacity
17. Club Class Only: Quads - Pre-School: (4 – 7 years) up to 50cc 2-stroke & 80cc 4-stroke (Stock Class)
18. Club Class Only: Quads - CVT (Stock): (7 – 12 years) up to100cc 2-stroke & 150cc 4-stroke (must have a
continuously variable transmission system).
19. Club Class Only: Quads - CVT (Modified): (7 – 12 years) up to 100cc 2-stroke & 150cc 4-stroke (must have
a continuously variable transmission system).
20. Club Class Only: Quads - Sportsman: (11 – 16 years) up to 240cc 2-stroke & 350cc 4-stroke (Production
class).
21. Club Class Only: Quads - High School: (17 years and older) up to 350cc 2-stroke & 450cc 4-stroke.
22. Club Class Only: Quads - Pro 450: (18 and older) up to 350cc 2-stroke & 450cc 4-stroke.
23. Club Class Only: Quads - Open: (18 and older) Unlimited capacity.
Minimum of 3 starters for club championships, minimum of 6 starters for regional championship. If less than 6 entries
are received in any of the above classes, that particular class may be combined with another class, only eligible
classes can be combined as per note 10 page 51. If categories are combined to make one club class race a
competitor must nominate his class.
5. ELIGIBILITY:
Refer to SSR’s 242 and 243 of the 2010 MSA, as well as all recent MSA National and Western Cape motocross
circulars. Note A minimum of a club licence is required for club classes. You may not ride in a Regional Class.
6. ENTRIES:
Entries open immediately and close on the MONDAY prior to the event.Refer to GCR 104.
Entries are to be submitted on the offical entry forms provided, entry fees need to accompany the entry form GCR
95 for it to be accepted. Late entries will be accepted until the close of documentation on race day. Any rider
who is late for documentation will be charged the late penalty of R200.00 refer to SSR 251.
A maximum of 40 bikes or 20 quads will be accepted per combined races. If more than 40 bikes or 20 quads are
received those entries will be placed on a reserve list. Only if entries are withdrawn will the reserve list come into
play. Riders who are on the reserve list may change to any other class that they may be eligible to participate in,
at the discretion of the clerk of the course.
7. ENTRANT’S LICENCE:
Where the entrant is not the rider, the appropriate licence must be obtained from MSA and be submitted together
with the entry form failing which the entrant’s name will not be published in the program.

Telephonic entries will not be accepted. Entries may be faxed or emailed. Close of entries and proof of payment is
to be with the organizers by no later than Monday 29 March 2010.
It is the responsibility of all competitors to make certain that his/her entry has been received, cheques and postal
orders are to be made payable to: CTMX or may be deposited directly into the CTMX bank account, the details

A copy of the deposit slip or internet transfer is to be faxed to the organisers at the above fax number. The
organisers and promoters reserve the right to refuse any entry without giving a reason as permitted in GCR 99(i)
and 100. A change of vehicle will be permitted subject to valid reasons for the change being given and the jury of
the meeting agreeing to the change. Refer to GCR 259 in the 2010 MSA handbook

12. DOCUMENTATION:
WILL TAKE PLACE IN THE ZONE 7 CLUB HOUSE
Should you only enter on the day a late entry fee of R200.00 will be charged. Riders late for documentation will be
charged an additional R200.00
13. SCRUTINEERING:
Self scrutineering will now apply. Forms will be attached to these regs and they must be returned completed,
when lining up for practice. Should you have more than 1 bike kindly ensure that it is included on the self
scrutineering form as it is 1 form per bike, this is to be done by the start of practice . Refer to SSR 226 of MSA 2010
Handbook.
14. RIDERS’ BRIEFING:
Will take place before practice. All riders must be present at the briefing at the stipulated time and venue.
Representatives will not be allowed to represent a rider, but may accompany the rider to the briefing. Failure of a
rider to attend riders’ briefing at which a register may be taken, will incur the imposition of a R100.00 fine.
15. START:
The starting order for the first heat will be based on championship point postions and then by number order and
subsequent heats will be based on finishing positions of the preceding heat. Refer SSR 230. The start will be carried
out in accordance with SSR’S 230, 232, 233 & 234 of the MSA 2010 handbook. If a rider is not present in the pre-
race paddock when he/she is called to the start line, he/she will forfeit his/her starting position.
16. PRACTICE:
Practice will be as per the program of events. Each rider will be allowed one person as either a mechanic,
assistant or parent to accompany them to the start gates. No additional spectators will be permitted in this area
during the day at all, other than authorised officials and the rider’s nominated assistant. SSR 229.
17. MODIFICATIONS TO MACHINE:
2010 MSA Handbook SSR 227
18. END OF RACE OR CLASSIFICATION OF A FINISHER:
Refer to SSR’s 237,238,239 and 240 of the 2010 MSA handbook time limit as per SSR 238. Any competitor who fails to
complete three quaters (75%) of the race and who fails to pass the chequered flag within 2 minutes plus 30
seconds of the winner will not classify as a finisher. Refer SSR 238
19. RESULTS / PROTESTS:
Results will be posted on the clubhouse windows after every heat. These results will become final 15 minutes after
posting. Refer GCR’s 200, 201, 202, 203, 204, 205 and SSR 254 of the 2010 MSA handbooks.
20. PRIZEGIVING/AWARDS:
At the clubhouse after the last race of the day. Prize giving will take place as soon as possible after the last heat
subject to any protests. Should there be less than 3 riders for any class a participation trophy may be awarded.
Non-attendance at prize giving means forfeiting your prize/trophy. Refer GCR 280(iii) of the MSA handbook.
21. FUEL:
Refer to GCR 240 of the 2010 MSA handbook & MSA general circulars. See also SSR 255.
22. FIRE EXTINGUISHERS:
Refer to SSR 226(IV)
23. ENVIRONMENTAL MATS:
Refer to MSA handbook 2010 SSR 243 note 10
24. POSTPONEMENT/ABANDONMENT OR CANCELLATION:
Refer to GCR 244 of the 2010 MSA handbook. Should there beinsufficient entries to cover the cost of the race
meeting, it will be postponed / cancelled. A minimum number of 70 paid entries is needed.
25. FINAL INSTRUCTIONS:
Will be issued at riders briefing. The organisers reserve the right to alter practice order and race order should it be
found to be necessary.
26. TELEMETRY:
No telemetry will be used.
27. TRACK PREPARATION
Designated riders may be invited to the club during track prep to test any new jumps or changes to jumps/
landings which might have had any work done on them; this is merely a safety precaution to make sure that the
jumps/ landings are safe. The rider will not practise the circuit other than what he is being asked to do by the
person in charge of track prep.
28. JETTING STRIP
The Jetting Strip will be open from 07h00 and will be at least 100m in length in a single direction with a clear return
route that does not interfere with the test strip. It will be marked with clear entrance, exit and directional signage.
The jetting strip is for jetting purposes and set up only. Any competitor found to be joy-riding, performing
“wheelies” or not using the jetting strip specifically for testing purposes may be removed from the strip.
Full kit as per race regulations to be worn at all times on the jetting strip. Only competitors or bona-fide crew or
mechanics may operate vehicles on the jetting strip and within these SSR’s and the event SR’s. Mechanics must be
aware that unless they are competitors they are not covered for accidents and the organisers or event medics
are not duty bound to attend to them.
29. RIDING CONDUCT:
Riding conduct – refer to SSR 247 and SSR 256. Nothwithstanding the competitor’s exclusion, he/she will be
reported to the stewards of the meeting who may consider further action in terms of GCR 172(vii). This rule will be
strictly enforced

30. CONSUMPTION OF ALCOHOL:
Refer to MSA GCR 118 and 150 of the 2010 MSA handbook. This includes the pits and pit area.
31. POINTS SCORING:
Refer to SSR 244 of the 2010 MSA handbook.
