The pigment content is approx. 40 %. Some of the data below pertain to the pigment. According to the data available, the pigment does not show acute toxic effects. Irritation to skin and mucous membranes have not been reported. Isoindoline pigments do not show aquatic toxicity. An 8-week bioaccumulation study on fish demonstrated that the pigment does not accumulate. Because of its inert, practically insoluble character, Eupolen® PE Yellow 11-5504 does not represent any hazard for the environment. From effluents, it can be removed mechanically. Incineration is the recommended form of disposal. Heavy metal contents

Eupolen® PE Yellow 11-5504 does not contain cadmium, hexavalent chromium, lead or mercury in its formulation. Analyses of representative standard samples have shown that the sum of the total content of these elements is less than 100 mg/kg and thus below the limit laid down in the EU Directive on packaging and packaging waste, 94/62/ EC, and the American CONEG model. The requirements of the EU Directives on electronic devices, 2002/95/EC, and on end-of-live vehicles, 2000/53/EC, are met. On average, the content of technically unavoidable impurities are as follows: antimony arsenic cadmium chromium lead < < < < < 20 mg/kg 20 mg/kg 30 mg/kg 50 mg/kg 20 mg/kg mercury selenium zinc primary aromatic amines < < < < 20 mg/kg 20 mg/kg 20 mg/kg 100 mg/kg

The metal contents quoted are based on the detection limit of the method of analysis used (X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy). The actual contents may be significantly lower. Halogen content Eupolen® PE Yellow 11-5504 does not contain any halogens in its formulation.
