BURLINGTON VICINAGE TO HONOR ITS VOLUNTEERS
MOUNT HOLLY – The Burlington Vicinage Superior Court will honor the valuable work of
court volunteers at the 2008 recognition dinner at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 15, at Milano
Modo by Lamberti in Mount Holly. Reporters and photographers are invited to attend.
With the theme “Volunteers – The Heart of our Community,” the program will include an
official welcome by Assignment Judge John A. Sweeney. Coordinators for each of the
court’s volunteer programs will recognize the service of their volunteers and note
accomplishments achieved over the past year.
Volunteers in the Burlington Vicinage serve the public in a variety of programs, such as Child
Custody Mediation, Small Claims and Municipal Court Mediation, Juvenile Conference
Committees, Child Placement Review Boards, Supervised Visitation, Advisory Committee on
Minority Concerns, as well as the new Court Appointed Special Advocate program. Their
dedication and commitment enable the court to expand the types of services it provides to the
public. The volunteer programs bring additional skills and perspectives to the court’s work
and create a window for the public to observe and to participate in the court system.
Several thousand volunteers serve the New Jersey Judiciary. The Burlington Vicinage is
honored to have nearly 200 active volunteer professionals.
The Burlington Court Volunteer Program is recruiting volunteers for their various programs.
