Deana Bilyeu will soon be riding in style. She’s the first of four players to win a 2010 V6 Mustang Convertible through the Oklahoma Lottery’s Mustang Money promotion. The Shattuck resident manages Tom’s Quick Stop, 523 S. Main, in Shattuck. She and her husband just happened to be shopping for a Mustang. “I’ve never owned one and I saw one on the road a few months ago and thought, ‘That’s the car I want,’” said Bilyeu. “We heard about the Mustang Money promotion then we decided to put our search on hold and try the promotion.” “I just had a feeling about it,” she said. “All day on Friday, May 1, I kept thinking that the Lottery might be calling soon but then I got busy and forgot about it.” Her perspective changed, however, when she received a call with a 405 area code. “The Lottery called me during the lunch hour when our store is usually packed,” she said. “So when I learned I had won, I yelled to the crowd, ‘I won the Mustang!’” Bilyeu will receive her car during a special presentation once the 2010 car models are released from the factory. Kum & Go #878, located at 1890 N Perkins Rd. in Stillwater, is the Oklahoma Lottery’s Spotlight Retailer of the month. During a recent sales call with store manager Jim Gambill, the store’s Marketing Sales Representative, Roni, sold-in one of the Lottery’s new lighted “Play Here” easel signs. Roni worked with Jim to find a high visibility location for the easel sign which is on the top of their instant ticket dispenser. The easel sign has been a great hit with their customers and has increased the store’s sales. Since the easel sign was installed on March 19th, the store’s instant ticket sales have averaged $180 per day which is an increase of 125%. “We love the sign; our lottery category sales have skyrocketed plus our customers know where to look for our instant tickets now,” Jim told Roni. “If this little sign can increase my sales that much, you can put up as many signs as you want,” Jim said.
