News from our Superintendent, Dr. Robert Werley
May 29, 2009
Dear Friends, Congratulations to our seniors who will graduate tomorrow (May 30th). They have been a great class and we will miss their leadership. The world they enter will be very different than the one I entered some 42 years ago. The challenges will be great – but then challenges are what make our lives exciting. There will always be challenges and there will always be good young people like our Coleman graduates to meet them. Wednesday night, once again, tens of thousands of dollars went out to students in the form of grants and scholarships. Much of that money came from local organizations and families. My thanks and the thanks of our present and future students go to those organizations and families for their votes of confidence in our young people. On Wednesday, I had the opportunity to attend the Brewer game with our middle school students. Once again I was impressed with their cooperation and behavior on this field trip. The Brewers were the only ones who didn’t cooperate, they lost 3-2. No one came home with the swine flu, but I am sure a few students came home with stomach aches from the amount of junk food they ate at the game. Next week will be the final newsletter of the year. From what I hear, more and more people are reading about our kids. I think it is odd that when things aren’t going so well, all the gory details make the front page of our local papers. We have to publish the good stuff ourselves. I guess good wholesome news doesn’t sell papers. I believe everyone needs to get the good news from our District. As always --Have good days,
Robert Werley, District Administrator
