The time involved is donation truck this year. Items can minimal. Adding content is just like Water Rates Did you know that as non residents supplied by the Town of Vienna we are paying much more for water and sewage than town residents? This a long standing dispute between existing water authorities and different locales. Several districts including Hunter Mill are affected by this discrepancy. For a succinct, informative article go to www.fairfaxtimes.com/news/2008/j ul/30/county-eyes-viennas-water- rates. The outcome of a lawsuit brought by Fairfax Water against the Town of Falls Church may eventually affect how Vienna manages its utility. Supervisor Hudgins is certainly aware of her constituents' concerns, but it wouldn't hurt to let her hear from as many as possible. The website of Fairfax Water also has a lot of information regarding the Falls Church lawsuit. Trash Talk A number of neighborhood residents have commented recently that they have been able to negotiate lower trash removal rates from AAA by calling them and mentioning that competing company American had offered to provide them with similar service at substantially lower rates. This is merely an observation as the ECA does not endorse any particular trash removal company. AAA has also told at least one local resident that they will soon be rolling out their new Recycle Bank program in our neighborhood. That program allows customers to get paid for recycling based upon the weight of their recycled materials. More information here: www.aaatrash.com/pages/services _st.aspx. By the way, AAA now uses single stream recycling, meaning that customers no longer need to sort their recyclables. Ice Cream Social Make plans to attend the annual ECA ice cream social which will be held on Sunday, August 2 at 4p.m. on Toyon Way This is always a yummy time and a great chance to catch up with old friends and make new ones! Dues Reminder Thank you to all the neighbors who paid their 2009 dues. A gentle reminder to anyone who has not yet paid dues, you can submit a check for $35 payable to the Eudora Civic Association to your block captain or to the Eudora VP Kristin Hoffman (see addresses below).
