 Re:    2008 Home Owner Tax Relief Grant Reimbursement


For fiscal year ending June 30, 2009, the General Assembly has appropriated funds to provide for
2008 homeowner tax relief grant (HTRG) reimbursements to counties, municipalities, county schools
and independent schools.

The majority of HTRG reimbursement checks have been processed and mailed and should be
arriving in your office soon. A distribution letter will accompany each check in order facilitate the
appropriate allocation of the grants funds to the various entities.

Please be aware that local governments that are not in compliance with Georgia Department of
Audits requirements for certain reporting and audit standards are prohibited from receiving HTRG
reimbursements. If you have questions regarding the local government eligibility for state grants, you
