Types of Transducer
There are basically two wide areas into
which transducer are categorized.
There are active and passive.
Active transducer are those that generate
voltage or current as a result of some form
of energy or force change.
The passive transducer changes its
properties when exposed to energy.
Active Transducer Elements
Active transducer elements are usually graded
those elements which generate a voltage as a
result of some energy for force change.
The generation of signal is accompanied by six
methods. The methods include electrostatics
and chemical. The two are not in general use as
transducer element type . The other four
methods are electromechanical, photoelectrical,
piezoelectrical, and thermoelectrical.
Relative motion through magnetic field will
produce voltage at the end of the
conductor.That is if the conductor is
passed though the file of field is pass
though the conductor or both conductor or
magnetic field is moving will produce
voltage at the end of the conductor.
The effect of light on conductive material produces
an effect called the photoelectric effect.
The sensing of light is also called photo
detection.Photo detection is defined around
three phenomena. These are
photoemission,photo detection, and photovoltaic
action.All quantum photo detector respond
directly to the action of incident light.
Synthetic or natural crystals such as quartz have
special physical qualities. When crystalline
material is stressed (pressure causes the crystal
shape to change or distort), a voltage is
produced at the surface.If a material perform in
this manner , it is said to be piezoelectric. It also
has another quality which is the direct reverse of
