Complete the DTF Gateway reviewer registration form and send the form with a copy of your CV to the DTF Gateway Unit. The DTF Gateway Unit will contact you and discuss the opportunity of becoming a qualified Gateway reviewer. Attend Gateway review team member training (organised by the DTF Gateway Unit).

Becoming a Gateway Reviewer
The Department of Treasury and Finance is implementing the Gateway Review Process and is seeking expressions of interest for appropriately skilled and experienced individuals to register as Gateway reviewers.

What is expected? Why become a Gateway reviewer?
Becoming a reviewer offers a rewarding developmental opportunity, providing you with a real insight into how other Public Authorities manage their procurement, including risk management, service delivery and change management. Benefits to you include: Reviews involve short periods of time of intense activity (usually 3-5 days). The majority of the time is spent interviewing project team members and stakeholders, and reading the project documentation. It is the review team’s role to identify areas of improvement and make recommendations that will support the project delivery. There are two types of Gateway reviewers, team member and team leader. Both public and private sector personnel can become Gateway reviewers. The selection of an appropriately skilled and experienced Gateway team is critical to the success and effectiveness of Gateway reviews. Reviewers need to demonstrate a level of skills and experience in one or more of the following areas:
What is a Gateway Review?
Gateway reviews examine programs or projects at key decision points that naturally arise in their lifecycle. The reviews are carried out by a team of experienced practitioners independent of the project team. The review team use their expertise and experience to examine progress to date and provide recommendations to assist in the successful delivery of the program or project.

In addition, potential reviewers should be able to demonstrate excellent leadership, communication and negotiation skills. They should also have the ability to quickly develop new working relationships, and be capable of delivering concise and constructive outputs within tight timeframes.
