Reimbursement
CACFP reimbursement is paid based on the number of meals served multiplied by the current rate of reimbursement. The rates (free, reduced, paid) are based on the household income of participants. You will be trained on how to make these determinations.

Contact our office or visit our web site for a list of upcoming dates and locations. Centers in western Nebraska may be trained on site at their center. Get paid for serving nutritious meals & snacks to your clients
If your facility is licensed for Adult Day Services, you may be eligible to receive reimbursement for nutritious meals and snacks served to clients by participating in the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP). Eligible day care facilities must provide structured, comprehensive services to nonresidential adults who are functionally impaired, or who are aged 60 and older.
Eligibility Requirements
Institutions must be licensed by a federal, state or local licensing authority. Institutions must: 1) be a public agency, 2) have tax-exempt status from the Internal Revenue Service or 3) receive Title XIX or Title XX benefits from the Nebraska Health and Human Services System (NHHSS) for at least 25% of the eligible enrolled participants.

Your Responsibilities
• To serve meals meeting program requirements. • To keep daily records of participants in attendance, number of meals served and quantities of food served and prepared. • To collect household size and income information on Income Eligibility Forms. • To comply with all regulations and instructions relating to the CACFP. • To be accountable for all funds received.

Breakfast includes 1 cup of fluid milk; 1/2 cup of juice, fruit or vegetable; and 2 servings of grains/bread. Lunch and Supper* include 1 cup of fluid milk; 2 ounces of meat/meat alternate; 1 cup of two different fruits and/or vegetables; and 2 servings of grains/breads. *Fluid milk is not required at supper. Snack includes two of four components: 1 cup fluid milk; 1/2 cup of juice, fruit or vegetable; 1 ounce of meat/meat alternate; 1 serving of grains/bread.
