COLLABORATIVE PARTNERSHIPS FOR COMMUNITY HEALTH
IMPROVEMENT
Lifeline Question
What do you think about having a community toolbox like university of Kansas? Is it useful? Would it help if we took some of
their tools and adapted them to Wisconsin?
# Lifeline Question
1 I am not familiar with this. I think the ministries can be helpful here.
2
3 I have no knowledge of Kansas but know that Wisconsin has fragmented; conflicting systems that overlap and have no incentives
for partnership. Each hunkers down in its own silo and has no reason for collaboration. There are few models and no financial or
organizational incentives to cooperate. To acheive this goal would require a state level restructuring of public health and the
practicing community.
cc85543c-2c12-4d98-8a12-1b3ef53b886a.xls Page 7 of 12
# Lifeline Question
4 Not familiar with this particular resource; kow of others similar to description
5 Not familiar with this
6 Yes with adequate input from Tribes.
7 I think that if the toolbox can be adapted to Wisconsin; it is a great tool.
8
9 I was not familiar with it; so I went online and looked through the materials. I don't see any reason to duplicate the CTB or
Wisconsin-ize it. The materials; as is; are meant to be somewhat generic (across topical areas). The authors' intentions seem to
be to have a single point of access for this growing repository; so why would we duplicate/replicate them??
10
11 It has potential
cc85543c-2c12-4d98-8a12-1b3ef53b886a.xls Page 8 of 12
# Lifeline Question
12 Don't know what the toolbox is. Public health needs to develop an ethos of partnership that hasn't been evident. Public health needs
to let others lead when appropriate. Public health needs to focus mopre on results and less on process.
13 I have not reviewed this resource; however; am a strong supporter of expanding best practice as long as target populations are
similiar.
14
15 We have a toolbox for our local coalitions; but I don't think many of them utilize the resources. What seems to be the most effective
is providing opportunities to people to network and collaborate.
16 I think it would be wonderful.
17 Why reinvent the wheel; they seem to have good ideas that could be adopted for Wisconsin
18 No knowledge
19 Providing another tool box only begins the work. Sustaining work needs funds using small competitive grants beyond the minimal
provided by the Health WI Partnership program.
20 We have some of these already
21 It's fine having and adapting a toolbox but without the community receiving training and knowing how to use those tools--too much
money just get wasted.
22
cc85543c-2c12-4d98-8a12-1b3ef53b886a.xls Page 9 of 12
# Lifeline Question
23 See above. KU's toolbox is very useful. You should include the link to the toolbox in this question!
24 These integrated tools are nice. Be sure to not reinvent the wheel. Do not feel that we need to be new and original. Use what is
already available in order to save time and money.
25 This is an excellent idea. KU's Community Toolbox is an excellent resource.
26 Adapting existing models and strategies is an excellent idea.
27 Not sure what this looks like.
28 I have not seen the community tool box - but I will look at it.
29 the CTB by U of Kansas is a wonderful resource. This could be kicked off with the collaboration training I mentioned above.
30 It may be helpful; but too much process work bogs down grassroots efforts.
31 Hard to say as I don't know what the toolbox has in it. But; anything that is used in another State must be adapted and tested in
Wisconsin; and in different communities within Wisconsin ethnic communities. Just because it worked in Kansas; the same thing
might not work in say; Milwaukee or Oskosh.
cc85543c-2c12-4d98-8a12-1b3ef53b886a.xls Page 10 of 12
# Lifeline Question
32
33 It would help to use what they already have.
34 Yes; we could use something like this. But why recreate the wheel? There is so much good stuff out there now; we should just
organize it or help someone else organize their's and piggyback on it.
35 There are many resources on partnerships already available. Would support not reinventing the wheel -- for saving resources and
faster implementation.
36 YES!
37 Positive approach. Yes; Yes.
38 for aoda; i think we have begun this but centralizing it with the clearinghouse - if it's still around - would be a good thing
39
cc85543c-2c12-4d98-8a12-1b3ef53b886a.xls Page 11 of 12
# Lifeline Question
40 Always better not to recreate the wheel
41 don't know - not familiar with the toolbox
42 Need info on the Kansas Community Toolbox Under provisional objectives: for Collaborative objectives the first Obj. under Health
equity doesn't make sense; What is meant by Dynamic Resource? Do you mean Function as a Dynamic Resource?
43 Absolutely; Wisconsin needs this.
44 Perhaps do some sort of assessment to compare what would be especially valuable to Wisconsin partnerships. Also; it will be
essential to market whatever resource is referenced or developed; so people know it exists; how to use it; etc.
45 I think the more resources that are available; the better. I would recommend they be adapted for Wisconsin.
