Title: Formal Letter
Guidelines:
A formal letter, using appropriate format, language, punctuation and spelling. Learners will
compose a job application cover letter to accompany a CV in response to a newspaper
advertisement.

Assessment Criteria:
Students will use correct layout, make points clearly and in an organised way, use good
spelling and paragraphing.

Students will accurately and concisely respond to the students pre-defined job advertisement
job advertisement, briefly describing their suitability for the role being advertised.

Students should also type and print out the individual job advertisement for inclusion in their
portfolio.
