Colorful classes designed by our artists to light your creative spirit. Each class meets Friday and Saturday morning from 9 - 12:30. Our instructors are creative dynamos with gobs of talent and experience. Take a Write Turn (writing)
Do you like words, yet twittering and blogging and emailing seem like word chores instead of word art?
Maybe you remember writing a long letter to a distant friend and the joy of finding the right words and rhythms to express how you really feel. Maybe you have a story to tell or a memory to record. Are you holding back from expressing your deepest thoughts?
The simple exercises in this workshop will help you find the way to tell your story. You might remember old words or invent new ones. Your words could gallop or stand tall or dance a waltz. Your words can touch a heart.
In two days you’ll write funny or frightening or spiritual or romantic stories. You'll write a book - a short small book to hold in your hands, share with family, keep forever. Instructors: Jane Bryant and Kate Van Dyke

Join an architect designing interactive spaces and an artist creating interactive sculpture as they lead an investigation into design starting with everyday human interaction.
Explore the ways art and design can influence our conversations, prayers, and actions. We will address material, perception, light, formed space, and unanticipated experiences. We will see why and how these factors impact appearances and reality in our world. Learn how relationships, aesthetics, activity, and the spaces we occupy relate to human physical scale and human imagination.
Allow the Holy Spirit to challenge your mind and cleanse your heart. Grab some tools and get your hands dirty. Engage with a team, and produce big ideas and big stuff, and maybe some small stuff, too.

Laguna Gloria - Explore the historic grounds, photograph, sketch, paint. Be inspired by nature! Rick Van Dyke Garden Tour - Be dazzled with Rick’s variety of succulents, turtles and his amazing handmade pottery vessels. Flatbed Press Tour and Mini-Monoprint Katherine Brimberry will host a tour and lead a monoprinting workshop at Flatbed Press in the artistic east Austin. Cogdell Garden Tour, Compost Tea Demo and Healthy Cooking Demo - Discover new ways to garden and to create a Eden-worthy dishes with John and Ann Cogdell. Austin Museum of Art Tour - Visit the museum and have a guided tour of the exhibit The Lining of Forgetting: Internal & External Memory. Recording Studio Tour - Musicians at Gateway church will host this tour of a local recording studio. Perfect for those wanting to see how albums are really made.

Our own bodies are our most basic and valuable instruments. Let's make the most out of what God has created us to be!
We will use words, gesture, movement & sound to explore different ways to express our human experience, learning to capture, listen to & cherish each others' stories as a means of creating performance through play. Combine the perfect amount of travel with a dab of inspiration and you have drive-by art. Each afternoon from 2 - 4:30 you will choose one venue to inspire your unique creative whims. Draw, print, gaze, taste, touch - it’s all part of the drive-by experience. Drive-by’s are at various locations around Austin. You will be given a map at check-in.
