March 19, 2008 What’s Going On With the High School Youth… Here’s an update on some of the exciting things that the High School youth are involved in: This Sunday we will be taking the lead in the Easter morning Sunrise Service. The Salt & Light choir and the Point worship band will be leading music; there will be drama performances by J Crew, and a sermon by junior Scott McPherson. The service will be in the field by the walking track at 7 am. Pray for good weather! On April 5th and 6th we will be traveling to Nashville for our second annual Urban Mission trip! Last year we had the opportunity to serve with Students Living A Mission (SLAM), a missions organization based in Nashville. We helped with an inner city children’s ministry, did clean-up work for a Hispanic church and the Boys & Girls club, and prepared boxes of clothes for missionaries to deliver to Africa. This year we will be returning to continue our work with this ministry. It will be a great opportunity for the youth to serve the Nashville community. SLAM is a wonderful ministry actively involved in both local and foreign missions. On an equally exciting side note: twelve high school students will be traveling with SLAM this June to Juarez, Mexico. Our work will include leading children’s services, light community service projects, staying in host homes and helping with local churches. Please be in prayer for us as we prepare to serve in Mexico. If you are a high school student interested in going to Nashville, please contact me before the 31st of March to sign up. I hope to see all of you at the Sunrise Service this Sunday! High School Youth Director Grant Dailey Sunday, March 23 EASTER SUNDAY Don’t forget . . .
