Position Title: Immigration Attorney Program Manager
Primary Accountability: Chief Operating Officer
Position Summary: Plans, develops, coordinates and administers the various programs and
activities of the Immigration Department. Work requires the application of advanced
administrative techniques in directing and participating in a wide variety of immigration
activities. Work involves the use of initiative and independent judgment within the framework
of established policies and procedures. Supervision is exercised over staff of professional,
paraprofessional and clerical employees and is engaged in the planning, implementation, and
operation of the department.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Develops departmental goals, operational objectives, and provides input in
Establishes departmental policies and procedures
Evaluates immigration needs in the community, plans and recommends program
Compiles research data and assists with proposal development to secure funding for
Maintains effective inter-agency working relationships
Provides technical assistance to department staff
Supervises the gathering of information, development of studies, compilation of
materials, and writing of reports
Instructs and supervises personnel in general agency policies and procedures, and
conducts staff conferences and meetings
Interprets the department’s programs to various groups in the community
Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor
Juris Doctorate with a minimum of two years experience in the practice of immigration law. At
least two years managerial experience directing community organization, program planning and
development in the area of immigration service activities, or any combination of experience,
education or training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge in applicable immigration law, regulations, policies and procedures; knowledge of
community resources; ability to express ideas clearly, orally and in writing. Knowledge of
Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel and Office pro. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
