Schedule 2 --- Instructions & Overview
This page provides notes and instructions for completing the Price Proposal forms.
1 Quantities: Quantities for some items are provided and other items are left for the Proposer to
fill in. If the quantities provided must be changed in order to provide a complete and compliant
proposal, please make that change. The submitted Price Proposal must be reflective of the
Proposer's System.
2 Prices: Enter prices in the unit price column that corresponds with the item and quantities.
3 General: Proposer accepts all responsibility for use of the excel workbook provided in
conjunction with this RFP, or Proposer may use the forms provided with the RFP.
i - Proposer is provided a copy of this spreadsheet as a courtesy and by using this file,
Proposer accepts all responsibility and risks for the workbook, formulas, entries and the result
of Price Proposal.
ii - Proposer is implicitly making a proposal compliant with the full Scope of Work and all the
Functional Requirements of this RFP. In the event that a pay item or some type of
compensation is not identified in the Price Proposal which is ultimately accepted by NCTA, the
successful Proposer may not ask for additional compensation.
4 Description of Schedules:
Schedule 1 --- Title Tab
This tab contains the mandatory block for the Contractor's name, and presents the outline.
Schedule 2 --- Instructions & Overview Tab
This tab gives instructions and general overview of the price proposal.
Schedule 3 --- ETC Effective Lane Tab
This tab shows the tabulation of toll lanes between the various toll zones and effective ETC
lanes.
Schedule 4 --- ETC Subsystem Pricing Summary Tab
This tab is the cost summary sheet for both Purchase and Lease-Purchase. The costs listed
are carried over from other tabs.
Schedule 5 --- ETC Subsystem Lease-Purchase Tab
Proposer enters monthly ETC Subsystem Lease-Purchase price in this tab. The Lease-
Purchase price shall include everything except the transponder costs.
Schedule 6 --- Transponder Prices Tab
The detailed transponder information and prices (both interior and exterior) shall be entered in
this tab. The estimated transponder quantity is provided by year.

(1) The current schedule for the Project indicates the that the Triangle Parkway will be the first section of the

providing pricing.
(2) The effective lane counts include shoulders which will also be equipped with the ETC Subsystem
components.

(1) Lanes: The initial year and the final year of operations will include only part of the total system
as indicated in the total lanes shown above. In year one it is expected that the Triangle Parkway
will open for revenue collection and the expected number of effective lanes will be 27. Years 2
through 5 will have a full Triangle Expressway component of 65 lanes. Year six will include only
the additional 38 lanes commissioned with the opening of the Western Wake Freeway in year 2.
(2) General Lease/Purchase Pricing: The Lease-Purchase pricing will be comprised of and be all
inclusive of the ETC Subsystem and the maintenance support. The Transponders will be
purchased separately as ordered and received. The Lease payments will begin upon
commissioning the system as ready for revenue collection.
D. The lease-purchase Total Price is carried over to Schedule 4 ETC Subsystem Pricing
Summary, Line 5.

used for evaluation only. The prices provided are for the life of the contract regardless of
actual quantities used.
(3) The Proposer must use the quantities provided. NCTA wishes to price both a
feedback and non-feedback transponders.
(4) NCTA reserves the right to evaluate use the pricing proposals in the most
advantageous manner to achieve the best business case for the NCTA.
