 Relative Pronoun

1) Relative pronouns introduce relative (or adjective) clauses. We use relative clauses to modify/
   describe the noun in the main clause.
2) We do not omit the relative pronoun when it is the subject of the relative clause; however, we can
   omit the relative pronoun when it is the object of the relative clause

 Relative Adverbs


 1)   When is used to refer to time.        e.g. 1996 was the year when they went on a cruise.

 2)   Where is used to refer to place.      e.g. A tennis court is a place where we play tennis.

 3)   Why is used to give reason.           e.g. He had a fight with his best friend, that is why he is say.
