ATLANTA, GA (EnviGlobal.com) – The city of Atlanta is poised for an amazing experience that will
change the entire perception of dance with the return of a resident theatre company, Atlanta Dance
Connection (ADC). Along with Founder and Artistic Director, Allyne D. Gartrell, ADC presents Grace,
Elegance, Energy: a contemporary dance performance with two company premieres at 14 th Street
Playhouse on May 6 – 7, 2011 at 8:00 pm ET each evening. The event will feature surprise guest
performances, as well as a special treat from Terrence “T. C.” Carson, best recognized from the hit
television show, “Living Single”.
“As a company, Atlanta Dance Connection represents grace, elegance and energy. It’s like the authentic
identity of the company. For those who have never experienced the arts, particularly dance, they will
view a full range of emotions through the performances. The audience will go on an emotional
rollercoaster, as dancers will be completely depleted after sharing their talents,” states Gartrell.
Sponsored by AREA | Atlanta’s Resource for Entertainment & Arts, ADC will present a breathtaking
experience with a variety of skilled dancers of all sizes and backgrounds. The first company premiere
will be a ballet entitled, Conversation on the Glass, choreographed by Kevin Jackson, formerly of
Oakland Ballet and Dallas Black Dance Theatre. Additionally, guests will enjoy the world premiere of

According to Gartrell, “Once Atlanta became a more commercial community to meet the market shift and
demands, contemporary dance somewhat fell by the waste side. My mission through ADC is to give back
to the city that I love and created the caliber of training that I received to succeed. Coming back to
Atlanta is my way of teaching each child that they can make their dreams come true; dance has no limits.
You can translate a message any age, size or color.”
