SALES AND USE TAX CERTIFICATE OF EXEMPTION Evidence of Exemption-State Sales & Use Tax Federal Income Tax The Mississippi Office of the Governor is a department of the State of Mississippi. The State of Mississippi and all of its departments are exempt from state sales tax purposes under Section 27-65-105, Mississippi Code of 1972, Annotated. In addition, all departments of the State of Mississippi are exempt from federal income tax purposes under Section 170 on the Internal Revenue Code.
