?Avon began more than 120 years ago, in 1886, by David McConnell. He started his company in order to get perfume to his customers the easy way-- by bringing the products to them. McConnell eventually change the name to Avon after visiting Shakespeare's home in Stratford-upon-Avon, seeing that it reminded him of his own home in New York.
