					                         DIVINE NUMBER (THREE)

Divine number three is link to the third day and return of the Lord Jesus Christ. It is
also linked to healing.

Knowing the Scripture quote that one day is as a thousand years and a thousand years
as one day with the Lord, our generation is that which will literally see the end of this
two thousand year period since the cross. It is our generation that will enter into the
third millennium (third day).

A prophetic strand about the third day is woven tightly into the Biblical tapestry
for a reason. It cannot be easily seen without carefully, prayerfully attending to what
God was doing with his son (Israel).

Paul in his first letter to the Corinthians (15-4) makes an astonishing statement
about Jesus: “He was buried, and he rose again on the third day according to the
Scriptures”. What‟s so strange is that there is no explicit prediction in the Hebrew
bible (Old Testament) about the Messiah dying and rising on the third day. Paul is
actually quoting the words of Jesus himself.

 Jesus said, “on the third day I will rise again (resurrection)
 Jesus said he would rebuild the temple in three days (his body) – also link with
     millennial temple
 At the age of twelve years Jesus was away from his parents and was found on the
     third day
 At the age of thirty years (Jewish maturity), Jesus‟ ministry of preaching began,
this endured for a period of three years
 There was a marriage in Cana on the third day (John 2)
 Jesus went to the Samaritans and abode there two days. After two days he
departed there and went into Galilee (on the third days he went back to Israel –
     John 4:40 – 43)
 Jesus abode for two days still. On the third day he went to Lazarus (John 11:6)
 Jesus fed a multitude on the third day
 After two days was the feast of the Passover (on the third day – Mark 14:1)
 Jesus asked Peter three times if he love him (John 12:17). Peter denied the Lord
     three times
 „King of the Jews‟ was written in three different languages on the cross
 It was on the third hour they crucified him (Mark 15:25) and when the sixth hour
had come there was darkness over the whole land until the ninth hour (three
     hours later)
 Jesus showed himself three times to his disciples after the resurrection (John
     21:14)
 After two days Israel will live in his sight (on the third day)

FATHER – SON – HOLY SPIRIT Three signifies divine perfection. Is it no
wonder that three is woven into the Scriptures for a reason, and that healing is
connected with three or the Holy Trinity (the three in one). Jesus is the fulfillment of
the Trinity and he‟s coming to rule and rein in the third day which fits in with God‟s
over all great plans – the seventh day since Adam (the day of rest). We are told to
know the reason.

There are three gifts of grace: FAITH, HOPE, LOVE

David was anointed three times:
1. David was anointed of Samuel in the home of Jesse (in secret)
2. David anointed inn Hebron (King of Judah 2 Sam 2-4)
3. David anointed for the third time by the tribes of Israel because he had now
come to Zion to rein (2 Sam 5:3)

King Jehoiakim became a servant to King Nebuchadnezzar for three years, Jehoiakim
reined three months. Job has seven sons and three daughters (Job 42:13).

1. Jesus – was anointed of the Father (back in the past ages of eternity)
2. Jesus – was baptized by John in the river Jordan and the Spirit of God come upon
     him like a dove
3. and Jesus – is going to return to set up his kingdom to rule and rein over the earth
as King of Kings and Lord of Lords

2 Kings 20:5 “I will heal thee: on the third day thou shall go up into the
                      house of the Lord”
Isaiah 37:30-32 Third year sow and reap

Luke 11:5 Which of you shall have a friend and shall go to him at
midnight and say to him, friend lend me three loaves
Luke 11:11 Jesus repeats a „giving‟ story three times
Luke 13-32 “Go tell ye and tell that fox (Herod), behold I cast out devils
and do cures today and tomorrow, and the third day I shall be
                      perfected”
 On the third day the earth was a raised out of the water (a symbol of resurrection
life we have in Christ) – see Genesis
 King Rehoboam (Solomon‟s son) – the King‟s answer to a lighter burden was for
the people to come back in three days (2 Chronicles 10:5)
 And this shall be a sign to you – and in the third year sow ye, and reap and plant
vineyards, and eat the fruit thereof (Isaiah 37:30)
 King Solomon offered burnt offerings to the Lord three times in the year (2
     Chronicles 8:13)
 Sin carried to the third generation (Numbers 14:18)
 For three years they walked in the way of David and Solomon (2 Chronicles
     11:17)
 King Jeroboam reigned over Judah for three years (2 Chronicles 13)
 Isaiah walked naked for three years as a sign (Isaiah 20:3)
 Every three years came the ships of Tarshish, bringing gold, silver, ivory, apes
and peacocks to King Solomon (2 Chronicles 9:21)

All these Scriptures mention emergence of new life from the earth or
circumstances of „lifelessness‟ (prison, captivity, or illness), or testing situations when
a – life is put on the line, but obedience wins unexpected reversal and brings
deliverance (Abraham and Isaac, Esther). Thus we find that the Third Day is a time of
release from realms of death.

Later on God explicitly promises Israel deliverance: “I will ransom them the
power of the grave; I will redeem them from death. O death I will be your plagues! O
Grave, I will be your destruction!” (13:14). After the death of his son (Israel), the
Father will raise him from the grave, the place of separation, on the third day. And
God‟s new life will be like the spring rain.
                                                                     (The Vineyard 1996)

And there is a parallel with Jesus the son – dying and raised on the third day and
Israel the Son (dying as a nation), but also being raised to a new beginning on or in
the third day.

Our generation will enter the third thousand year day where the knowledge
of the Lord shall be as the water cover the sea. Our generation is the last
generation in his dispensation period.

SEVEN is also a Divine Number linked to the day of rest in the Kingdom to come on
earth.
