									Steps                        CBP Limited UN/EDIFACT Generator Data Import Instructions
        Use this workbook as a template. You can use the autolinks to take you to the selected worksheet. Autolinks appear with
  1     the text Click here or press SHIFT + F10, and are highlighted with a yellow background.
  2     When opening or using this workbook always select Enable Macros.
        Once you have reviewed the instructions, complete the following steps in the sequence that has been provided to
  3     ensure your manifest is created correctly.

        NOTE: When using the import feature, the Crew-Pax Information sheet only will be loaded with the imported data.
        CAUTION : Manually typing data into fields will override the import feature for that worksheet.

                   Enter contact information in the green highlighted areas on
                   the Contact Information worksheet. Press Check Data

                   Enter trip information in the green highlighted areas on the

                   TIP: To move from one worksheet to another, use the autolinks to take you to the desired worksheet.

        Create a file named LUGImport.txt containing the data elements from steps 1-14 and either a TAB Delimiter or
  4     Semicolon. Do not use both.

                                      Enter the surname (last name) of the traveler as it appears on the travel document.
  1      Surname (Last Name)          Enter no more than 35 characters plus a TAB Delimiter or a Semicolon Delimiter.
                                      Enter the first name of the traveler as it appears on the travel document. Enter no
                                      more than 35 characters plus a TAB Delimiter. If there is only one name on the
  2      First Name                   travel document, it should be entered as the surname and "FNU" should be
                                      entered as the first anme to indicate First Name Unknown with a TAB Delimiter or a
                                      Semicolon Delimiter.
                                      Enter the middle name of the traveler as it appears on the travel document. Enter
                                      no more than 35 characters plus a TAB Delimiter or a Semicolon Delimiter. If the
  3      Middle Name                  traveler has no middle name, leave the field blank but add a TAB Delimiter or a
                                      Semicolon Delimiter indicating a blank field.
                                      Enter the date of birth as it appears on the travel document in the format YYMMDD.
  4      Date of Birth                Enter no more than 6 characters plus a TAB Delimiter or a Semicolon Delimiter.
                                      Enter a valid gender: M - male; F - female; U - unknown plus a TAB Delimiter or a
  5      Gender                       Semicolon Delimiter.


                                      Enter a valid DHS-approved travel document type plus a TAB Delimiter or a
  6      Document Code                Semicolon Delimiter. A list of valid document types is available on the Document
                                      Code tab.


                                      Enter the unique number that identifies the DHS-approved travel document plus a
  7      Document Number              TAB Delimiter or a Semicolon Delimiter. The number can range from 1-35
                                      characters.
                                                        Enter the 3-character code of the country that issued the DHS-approved travel
        8      Document Issuing Country                 document plus a TAB Delimiter or a Semicolon Delimiter. A list of valid codes is
                                                        available on the Country Code tab.
                                                        Enter the valid physical address (generally, number and street) for the location
        9      Street Address                           where the traveler will be or has been staying in the United States. Enter no more
                                                        than 35 characters plus a TAB Delimiter or a Semicolon Delimiter.
                                                        Enter the name of the city associated with the “Street Address”. Enter no more than
        10     City                                     35 characters plus a TAB Delimiter or a Semicolon Delimiter.

                                                        Enter the 2-character state code of the state associated with the “Street Address”
        11     State                                    plus a TAB Delimiter or a Semicolon Delimiter. A list of valid codes is available on
                                                        the State Code tab.
                                                        Enter the postal or zip code associated with the “Street Address”of the passenger's
        12     Postal Code
                                                        destination plus a TAB Delimiter or a Semicolon Delimiter.
                                                        Enter the 3-character code of the departure (embarkation) location of the traveler
        13     Departure Location Code                  plus a TAB Delimiter or a Semicolon Delimiter. A list of valid codes is available on
                                                        the IATA Airport Code tab.
                                                        Enter the 3-character code of the arrival (debarkation) location of the traveler plus a
        14     Arrival Location Code                    TAB Delimiter or a Semicolon Delimiter. A list of valid codes is available on the
                                                        IATA Airport Codes tab.
                                                        A line return is required after entering the manifest information for each traveler. (
        15     Line Return                              Do not enter a TAB Delimiter or Semicolon Delimiter.)

    You will be able to verify the data entered on the Pax Imported Data spreadsheet after completing step three (3). Changing data in the
    LUGImport.txt file will delete data in the Pax Imported Data spreadsheet. Before importing new data, be sure to answer No to the
5   question "Do you want to delete the query?" CAUTION: Do not delete any row or column. Otherwise the Limited UNEDIFACT Generator
    will be voided. Only delete data that was imported.
6    To load traveler information into Pax Imported Data spreadsheet, press CTRL+SHIFT+L.



     Use the Convert dates in mm/dd/yy format to yymmdd autolink on the Pax Imported Data worksheet to convert birth dates in the
7    format mm/dd/y or press CTRL+SHIFT+M to convert dates after data has been imported.



     There are two ways to check for a missing leading zero in birthdays: - Use the Check for a missing leading zero in birthdays when
8    the data of birth is in the yymmdd format autolink on the Pax Imported Data worksheet or press CTRL+SHIFT+G after data has been
     imported.


9    After completing the prior steps, use the Click here to go to Crew-Pax Information autolink or press CTRL+SHIFT+G.


10   Use the Check Passenger Entries autolink on the Crew-Pax Information sheet to check Traveler Information or press CTRL+SHIFT+P.

     When all required information has been entered, create the mainfest.txt file by:
        1. Pressing CTRL+SHIFT+C.
        2. The file manifest.txt is created. Save the file to your c:\ drive.
11      3. If you already have this file, a prompt stating, "manifest.txt already exists" will display. Select Yes to
           override the existing file.


12   eAPIS upload instructions:
          a      Sign in to your eAPIS account at https://eapis.cbp.dhs.gov with your Sender ID (LPIS*xxx) and password.
          b      From the Manifest Options page, select Upload Manifest.
 c      From the Upload Manifest page, select the Browse… button.

 d      Locate your manifest.txt file. Highlight the file and select Open or double-click it.

 e      You will then see the file name in the box. Select Next.
        On the Verify and Submit Manifest page you will be able to view the selected file to make sure that it is the correct
 f
        manifest. Once you have verified, select Submit.
         eAPIS will take you to the Confirmation page indicating that you have successfully submitted your manifest. Please print
 g      this page or make a note of the confirmation number provided for your records. This information may be needed if there are
        problems with your manifest submission.

                                           Advance Passenger Information System (APIS)
1. Setup instructions:

Before using this workbook, please follow these setup instructions:

 a) Save a copy of this UN/EDIFACT generator before entering your data. Select Save As from the File drop-down menu and
    select where you want to save a copy.
 b) Do not use the following reserved characters # + @ ? or ^ when entering your data.

 c) Do not open the manifest.txt file. This will invalidate the file.

2. To import data :
If using the data import functionality, click on the autolink Click here to go
to the Import Passenger Instructions worksheet. This step is for

convenience for companies with the ability to use this functionality. It is not
required, If you are not importing data, please go to step 3.




3. Workbook user instructions:

       Entry. If valid, traveler information that has been entered in the fields will display. If invalid, a message will display
       prompting you to correct the field. Click Retry to enter traveker information.

             Do not insert spaces as they may cause errors.
  d) When all the required information has been entered, create the mainfest.txt file by:
      1. Pressing CTRL+SHIFT+C.
      2. A file named manifest.txt is created. Save the file to your c:\ drive.
      3. If you already created this file, a prompt stating "manifest.txt already exists" will display. Select Yes to
         override the existing file.
  e) After completing manifest creation, use Save As to save the spreadsheet with a new name for each unique trip. In the event
that there are problems with your manifest submission, CBP will request this spreadsheet to troubleshoot and identify issues.

4. eAPIS upload instructions:

 a) Sign in to your eAPIS account at https://eapis.cbp.dhs.gov with your Sender ID (LPIS*xxx) and password.
 b) From the Manifest Options page, select Upload Manifest.
