2009-2013 School Improvement Grant 1003 (g)

   • 3 year funding: $161,729,411
   • Eligibility: 25 LEAs
   • Online applications are being processed and
     moving through the stages of approval
           Parental Involvement

• FDOE held its first Parental Involvement
  Conference in July 2010, with more than 200
  participants
• LEA Plans were due on July 31, 2010, and are
  currently under review
• Review correlates with Title I, Part A application
• LEAs are required to review school plans to
  ensure compliance
       Title I, Part A Choice/SES

• Online applications are being processed and
  moving through the stages of approval
• October 15, 2010, deadline to begin services
  has been extended to November 1, 2010
• LEAs must provide student enrollment lists no
  later than October 12, 2010
• Waiver – USDE has approved FDOE to allow
  DINIs and SINIs to provide SES services
• District and School SES providers are held to
  the same requirements as private SES
  providers
             Comparability

• The Comparability Technical Assistance Paper
  and the online reporting system are being
  revised for the 2010-2011 reporting period
• Schedule for Monitoring Requirements
• Projected release of online comparability
  reporting system: October 15, 2010
   - Anticipated due date – November 15, 2010
Title I, Part C – Migrant Education Program

 • Online applications are being processed and
   moving through the stages of approval
 • New staff hired
 • Migrant Implementations Strategies Meeting:
   October 5 and 6 in Tallahassee
 • USDE Office of Migrant Education review
 • Continuation of Services Technical Assistance
   Paper is pending OME’s guidance and final
   review
Title I, Part C – Migrant Education Program

   • Applied for the Migrant Student Information
     Exchange (MSIX) State Data Quality Grant
   • District MEP Summer Program Outcome
     Reports due on September 30, 2010
   • District MEP Annual Evaluation Reports due on
     October 29, 2010
      Title VI – Rural Education

• 2009-2010 funds – Districts granted a No Cost
  Extension through September 30, 2010
  Funds need to be expended and the
  appropriate documentation submitted to the
  Comptroller’s Office
      Title VI – Rural Education

• Online applications are being processed and
  are moving through the stages of approval – 24
  LEAs were eligible for 2010-2011 FY
• The program office is still awaiting the Florida’s
  Title VI Award Notification for the 2010-2011 FY
   Title X – Homeless Education

• Preliminary data shows an increase in student
  count
• Increase in funding for the 2010-2011 FY-
  $3,283,463
• 41 school districts receiving the McKinney-
  Vento Sub grants this year
• Online applications are being processed and
  moving through the stages of approval
   Title X – Homeless Education

• Year 1 Reports for the Title X ,Sub grantees are
  due on December 31, 2010
• Homeless Education Track at the Florida
  Supportive Housing Coalition and the Florida
  Coalition for the Homeless Conference –
  October 25-26, 2010, in Clearwater Beach,
  Florida
• Monitoring work papers are due on October 1,
  2010, through the FDOE’s online monitoring
  system
