period c1870. Sold at the opening to a US private collector for just over €120,000.
Fairley sold four pieces to Chinese collectors including a late 19 th century hardwood
Japanese vase for about €40,000.

 “What has been interesting today is that we have had mainland Chinese collectors and they
bought mid-priced range Japanese pieces,” said Fairley. “They are beginning to realize that
there are some extraordinary Japanese works of art. It is our first TEFAF and we are very
pleased. We had no idea that it was going to be so good.”

one of the manifestations of the god Amun. Three people tried to buy this. It sold for in the

Fantastic story about a Chinese couple that was very interested in Flora & Zephyr sculpture by
Benzoni. They did not buy it at the fair but regretted that so much that they called 15 minutes
before opening time the next day to wanted to buy it anyway. The asking price was € 400.000

lithograph printed in colours, signed and dated in blue ballpoint, ed. 300, 1964 by Andy
Warhol (1928-1987) to a Dutch television personality. This was printed at the start of Warhol‟s
interest in icons when he was still unknown and few copies survive in good condition.
