Kasey’s leadership has been full of energy, enthusiasm and great new
ideas. He is the type of team player that attracts participation and
offers of help and networking among other Washington State Cham-
bers. The current Customer Service Seminar offered in November is
the direct result of Kasey reaching out to the community of Chamber
members. This seminar is being facilitated by a nationally recognized
instructor – where else could a small community like Shelton find such
an excellent seminar but through your Chamber! I attended the
preliminary screening for this event and found the material totally
relevant to my small business and will be sending all of my manage-
ment personnel. How about you? There’s still room for you and your
key people. Don’t let such a professional training opportunity pass
you by!
Another innovation that Kasey has implemented is this new four
color newsletter. I for one think it enhances the Shelton-Mason County
Chamber of Commerce by providing a communication vehicle that we
can all be proud of. It also gives each Chamber member the opportu-
nity to advertise to over 350 business members each and every month.
The rates are reasonable and you can now have your business card ad
in color. Let’s all support the efforts of our Executive Director by
helping him fill this new monthly production with interesting busi-
ness articles, ads for products and services, and announcements of
fun and supportive activities in the business community.
Elections will soon be over nationally and locally, but we’re just
getting started for the new Chamber Board of Trustees for 2005. You’ll
soon find yourself with a ballot full of exciting, energetic, and ready to
serve candidates. Please take the time to vote. To those of you who
have volunteered to become a candidate, thank you so much! This is
an important and worthwhile commitment that is much appreciated
by your fellow business person.

And last, but not least, “how about them Climbers?!” I never imagined after
moving back to Shelton and taking this position that I’d be one to follow my
alma mater’s sports programs, but it’s addicting! They are undefeated and sure
to beat North Kitsap, sending them to playoffs with the highest of hopes. What
is truly great is the support you see by more than just the player’s families, up
in the stands, cheering and hollering. It’s great! And the cannon is back! It is
truly small town America in its finest form—and if the Olympian won’t report
it, I will!
Go! Fight! Win!!! “You gotta love these guys!”
