Texas Banking Department Issues Proclamation to
Texas State Chartered Banks Affected by Hurricane Ike
Robert L. Bacon, Texas Interim Banking Commissioner, today issued a proclamation
allowing Texas state-chartered banks with offices in areas that may be affected by
Hurricane Ike to remain temporarily closed under Section 37.003 of the Texas Finance
In issuing this proclamation, Interim Commissioner Bacon said he expects that only those
bank offices directly affected by severe weather will remain closed. Financial institutions
or their customers needing additional information may contact the Texas Department of
Banking toll free at 1-877-893-6246 or by email at TXDOB.INFO@banking.state.tx.us.
