- Using a pair of pliers press both steel strips together on the enclosed side of the
rubber, slide sideways out of upper clip and remove insert complete with strip from
the other clips of the wiper blades.

- Install new insert into lower clips of wiper blade.
- Insert both strips, in the first groove of the rubber so that the recesses in the strips
face the rubber and engage in the rubber lugs of the groove.
- Using pliers press both steel strips and rubber together and install in the upper clips
so that the lugs of the clips on both sides engage in the retaining slots (arrow) of the

Wiper arm angle, adjusting (Page 92-12)

Windshield wiper blade chatter and skipping of blade across windshield can be caused by
incorrect wiper arm angle.
The incorrect wiper arm angle will not allow the wiper blade to flip and follow the wiper arm.
Possible causes for skipping wiper blades:
    Windshield scratched
    Wiper blade rubber loose/torn, replace
    Wiper arms/blades loose/bent, replace
    Wiper blades waxed/deformed, replace
Incorrect contact angle of wiper arm
If the first four items above are not the cause adjust the wiper arm angle as follows;

Set wiper arms to rest position.
- Remove wiper blade.
- Insert wiper arm -2- into wiper arm adjustment tool 3358 and secure with retaining
  bolt -3-.
- Apply 24 mm wrench -1- to the adjustment tool and twist -arrows- wiper arm -2-
according to table (see table page 92-13).
- Remove wiper arm -2- from adjustment tool with retaining bolt -3- then reinstall and
  recheck.
- Check setting using table. If necessary, the setting and checking procedure should
be repeated until specified value is attained.
- Remove adjustment tool and install wiper blades.
