WELCOME NEW MEMBER: Bianca Vriesinga, 728 Reeves Lake Drive, Marietta, 30064; 770-485-0231;
buricsinga@hotmail.com. Bianca was referred by Adrienne Nelson. She owns a RPSI (Rheinland-Pfalz-
Saar) registered warmblood named Lilly. She would love some advice on training her! Bianca likes to trail
ride and do dressage.

Equine Industry.

GARLAND MOUNTAIN WORK DAY: Saturday, April 12th. Please hold that date and come help us clear the trail
corridor. For info contact: Larry Wheat, Garland Mountain Horse Trails project at l.wheat@mindspring.com.
CONGRATULATIONS TO Susan Waldron. She and Craig’s horse Miller, made the local Alabama
newspaper! As part of the Calhoun County mounted patrol unit, Susan rode Miller to patrol during the week of
Mobile's Mardi Gras festivities.

Susan and Miller completed 40 hours of training in Mobile, in addition to other periodic work during the weeks before
the festivities to prepare for rigors of the crowds.

The horses are worked with smoke bombs, flares and guns. Sangria, Susan’s own horse, did not think too much of
this commotion during his training and therefore Susan opted to use Miller. Miller, a Belgian/QH cross, has a much
better temperament for the job.

The county's modern-day posse and mounted patrol unit was started in 1998 and exists primarily for search and
rescue work.

GIGI NUTTER DRESSAGE: If anyone would be interested in training with dressage instructor Gigi Nutter please
contact Lisa Cantrell at cantfarm@bellsouth.net or 770-943-6477. Lisa needs at least 5 riders in order for Gigi to come to Powder
Springs. Work would be done in a competition-sized dressage arena on Lisa’s farm off Corner Rd in Powder Springs. No extra
stalls so this would be a trailer-in situation. Cost would be $80 for 50 minutes. Gigi can come on Mondays or Fridays starting at
11. If you would like more information about Gigi you can check her web-site: www.touchngofarm.com. Lisa would be happy to
talk to anyone interested as well. She has ridden with Gigi for almost 5 years and started with a barely broke 3YO who she is now
planning on competing 3rd level this spring. Gigi is super at teaching the rider to train the horse.
