Freelance Designer: Manage print and web projects, functioning as individual designer and project manager, for
projects requiring offset printing, web design/development and marketing initiatives.
Steer projects from initial conception, through print or web production to final delivery, with a proactive focus on client
objectives, expectations, budget, and schedule.
Consult with individual and small business clients in the design and production of corporate identity packages, trade
show/exhibition graphics, logos, collateral, direct marketing material, web sites and web marketing strategies.
NIMLOK, Niles, Illinois. January 2004 – December 2004.
Graphics Coordinator: Coordinated graphics production for trade show exhibitions as one of five coordinators for the
leading global trade show exhibit solutions provider, offering full-service design, production, and support services through
an international network of 20 distributor partners. Developed and produced custom design solutions, in consultation
with project manager and worldwide distributors, earning consistent praise and recognition from distributor partners.
Evolved from a production artist, inexperienced in the exhibition industry, to a focused and effective coordinator and
organization contributor. Selected to supervise other coordinators and projects in the absence of supervisor,
within two months of hire. Continued to exceed expectations in coordinator role, until reorganization and transition
of role to graphics technician.
Managed graphics projects, valued from $1,000 to $500,000, with a proactive focus on communication with assigned
profiled of 45 distributors, project manager, and project team members, to ensure seamless coordination of schedule
and specifications between graphics and fabrication/manufacturing departments.
Coordinated from 6 to 20 daily projects, from initial preparation of job order, to pre-flight of supplied artwork,
preparation for large format printing on 60-inch and 95-inch ink jet printers, and quality control. Designed custom
graphics, optimized, and sized images to the specified exhibition size and graphic theme, averaging 50 x 50 feet and
using 50-60 graphic images per project.

expert, operating procedure mentor to newly-hired coordinators, and key contributor to the proofing and quality

Graphic Design Consultant: Hired as assistant to owner/manager, learning all aspects of the business in preparation for
future purchase. Continued as primary customer contact, graphic design/pre-press and quality control coordinator, and
part-time outside sales representative until business was sold.
Consulted with individual and small business customers of busy retail chain print and copy shop, educating and
servicing them in available products, services, design, print, and copy capabilities.
Managed full-phase customer projects, from initial consultation, pricing, and order, to pre-flight of customer-
provided images and layouts, original design, supervision of print and copy production, and quality control.
Designed and formatted business marketing and collateral pieces, including newsletter, brochures, and flyers; company
identity graphics, logos, and letterhead; and various smaller layout projects for individuals.

Developed advertising and sales concepts for 25-year old business generating annual sales of $350,000 without prior
advertising. Designed and planned targeted sales presentations, including the creation and production of collateral.
Researched business processes and procedures to develop and apply a structured business process and computerized
