					              Cell Analogy Project Assignment
                            Due ______________________

Goal: Make a project that compares a system with a cell, writing analogies for the
system parts and how they relate to the functions of individual organelles.

Product: Your product may be in the form of a booklet or ½ sheet poster board.

Minimum requirements:
   1. For each organelle, write an analogy to a part of your chosen system. In
complete sentences, explain why the two are alike, in terms of their functions.
Must be typed or neatly written in blue or black ink.
      Ex: In a Cell City,
          a. The DNA is the mayor, because he/she conducts the city’s activities, as
the DNA conducts the cell’s activities.
          b. The nucleus is the Town Hall, because the mayor’s office is in the Town
Hall, as the DNA is in the nucleus.
   2. Find a clip art for, or neatly draw and color, your analogous part. For the
example above, you would find a picture of a town hall and attach it to your
      project, next to the analogy.
   3. Neatly draw, color and label your chosen plant or animal cell.
   4. Create a title.

Required organelles: Choose 13 from the list below
             Nucleus
             Nucleolus
             Chromatin
             Nuclear Envelope
             Mitochondria
             Chloroplast (plant cell, only)
             Cell Wall (plant cell, only)
             Plasma membrane
             Cytoplasm
             Cytoskeleton
             Microtubules
             Lysosomes (animal cell only)
             Ribosomes
             Golgi apparatus
             Vacuole
             Endoplasmic Reticulum
