                          BEACH EXCURSIONS
BEACHCOMBING CRUISE • 3 hours • A very popular adventure to nearby islands,
this boat cruise incorporates our two hour Dolphin Tour with the bonus of getting
off the boat onto a remote shell bank or the beaches of legendary Daufuskie Island
and search for shells, sand dollars, crabs, starfish and the occasional sharks tooth.

BEACH EXCURSION TO DAUFUSKIE ISLAND • 4 hours • A highly recommended
beach adventure to nearby Daufuskie Island, this excursion incorporates a scenic boat
cruise with the solitude and beauty that the quiet beaches Daufuskie Island offers.
Search for shells and natural treasures – or simply spend a few hours soaking up the
sun on the remote and secluded beach.

DOLPHIN DISCOVERY CRUISE • 1 1/2 or 2 hours • A U.S. Coast Guard licensed
captain and experienced interpretive naturalist guide will lead this powerboat-based
nature “hike” through the Lowcountry estuaries. You will explore many of the local
waterways such as the Cooper River (a tidal salt river with views of the Haig Point and
Harbourtown lighthouses), Bull Creek (a world-renowned site for unique dolphin
behavior), the historic May River, and more. Cover a wide area on this great nature
tour with a fantastic opportunity to view our local Atlantic Bottlenose Dolphin.

KAYAK NATURE TOUR • 2 hours • Experience the beauty of the South Carolina
Lowcountry salt marsh estuaries with a close-up view from the seat of a kayak. No
experience is necessary for this laid-back excursion. A brief paddling clinic will
introduce you to the basics of kayaking and get you comfortable in the boat. Then,
depart the Inn’s dock on the May River to explore waterways teeming with wildlife.
Herons, osprey and other bird life are abundant, and you may have the opportunity
to watch our local Atlantic Bottlenose Dolphin. The salt marsh is a fascinating eco-
system filled with life. Your guide will discuss the organisms and processes that
surround you. This excursion is a relaxed and informative journey that moves at your
pace and provides a good introduction to kayaking.

GRACE CRUISES & CHARTERS • The Grande Dame of the Palmetto Bluff fleet
is the 60-foot antique motor yacht, Grace. The yacht’s namesake, Grace Wilson
Vanderbilt – R.T. Wilson Jr.’s sister and wife of Cornelius Vanderbilt, III – was known
as the most prominent society hostess of her time in both Newport and
New York. Our Grace is following this tradition of gracious entertaining at Palmetto
Bluff more than 90 years after her debut at the Manhasset Bay Yacht Club in 1913.

    GRACE - SCENIC MAY RIVER CRUISE • 1 1/2 hours • Grace will wander up the
    May River past Buck Point, the estates of Kirk Bluff to downtown Bluffton by

TREEHOUSES • Remember the childhood thrill of hiding in a wooden shelter among
the branches, enjoying a bird’s-eye view of the neighborhood? Relive that excitement
at the treehouse in Wilson, located on Mount Pelia Road near the Spa, and at the
treehouse tucked along the marsh at Moreland. The treehouses and hand-crafted
furniture were designed and built by the father-son duo of Wayne and Heath Edwards.
The structures wrap around live oaks without touching any part of the tree. The
Mount Pelia treehouse has multiple entry and exit points, including a wooden
boardwalk, a rope ladder, a metal slide and a zipline connected to an adjacent tree.
Two hammocks and a swing set sit nearby for those who need a rest. The grassy, shady
