Entries into Film Lotus Broadcast Category (F/FC01-F/FC22) must have been broadcasted on the
TV/Cinema medium.
Entries into Film Lotus Internet/Mobile Category (F/FC23-F/FC24) must have been broadcasted
on the internet or mobile.

Required Proof of Legitimacy: Original Media Schedule from media agency must be sent by
post.

Special Remarks:
   - Submitted entries must be the versions as broadcasted on the medium. Directors’ cuts are
      not eligible.
   - Entries into Internet/Mobile Category (F/FC23-F/FC24) must provide:
         o At least one active URL of the link where the entry is broadcasted
         o If the links are no longer active, entrants must submit video presentation of how the
             entry was run online OR offline files of the entry

Outdoor Lotus Categories
There is distinction between Single and Campaign entries for Outdoor Lotus. Entries a single
entry, campaign, set of execution or an event.

Required Proof of Legitimacy:
  - Original Client Endorsement Letter in client’s letterhead
  - Picture on location

Special Remarks:
   - Optional Video Supplement:
          o Must not exceed 3 minutes. Videos exceeding 3-minute limit will be cut-off at the 3
             minute mark and not shown to juries during judging.
          o A 45-sec version must also be provided for award presentation purposes in case the
             entry is a Lotus award winner.
   - If the video presentation has copyright or licensing concerns for which the video
      presentation cannot be shown after the festival e.g. on website or promotional activities,
      entrants must remark these constraints when submitting their entries.
   - 2-dimensional printed posters must be entered into appropriate sub-category in Poster
      Lotus.


OD01        Transit Medium
            Ads seen from a static position:
            • BUSES (inside, bus shelters, posters around bus stops)
            • TAXIS (inside, taxi stands etc)
            • TRAINS (inside, stations etc)
            • Inside of other transport vehicles

OD02        Mobile Billboard/Wrapped-Around
            Ads displayed or printed on the outside of vehicles; viewed on the move:
            • BUSES - outside, wholly painted, mounted on top

            Ads mounted or framed on the street, hanged on street lamps etc

            Street furniture is a term for objects and pieces of equipment installed on streets and roads
            for various purposes, including benches, bollards, post boxes, phone boxes, streetlamps,
            street lighting, traffic lights, traffic signs, bus stops, grit bins, public lavatories, fountains and
            memorials, and waste receptacles.

OD04        Electronic Poster/Video
            Out-of-home, non-traditional posters that are interactive experiences and utilise digital or
            mechanical techniques.

OD05        Ambient
            Entries in the ‘ambient advertising’ categories should be free format or non-standardized,
            and NOT designed for standard poster sites.

            Non-traditional advertising that is usually site specific or engages the consumer in a unique,
            creative, unexpected yet relevant way. All work must be shown in situ and must have run
            with legal permission.

Special Remarks:
   - For ND01: On-Air Spot, ND03: Viral Spot, and ND04: Short Film, submitted entries must be
      the versions as broadcasted on the medium. Directors’ cuts are not eligible.
   - For ND05: Entries must be one of the first 7 works ever directed by the Director. Deadline
      for Script Submissions to ND05 is 31 December 2010.
   - For ND06: Film Students, entries must be a school project at a recognized film school

Single

ND01                     On-Air Spot
                         Eligible works must be works created for clients for the purpose of on-air TV
                         or cinema broadcast.

ND02                     Portfolio spot
                         Works directed for the purpose of building a director’s reel without a client or
                         on-air broadcast.

ND03                     Viral Spot
                         Eligible works must be works created for clients for the purpose of website,
                         email, mobile devices, and other non-broadcast medium such as distribution
                         of DVD.

ND04                     Short Film
                         Eligible works must be works created for clients for the purpose of broadcast
                         program, internal promotion, or special event screening.

ND05                     Short Films for ADFEST 2011 by The Fabulous Four
                         ND05 is a non-entry fee basis. Eligible entrants submit scripts under the
                         theme “JUMP START” where only 4 selected scripts will notified for
                         production and shown at ADFEST 2011 at the Fabulous Four session. For more

ND06                     Film Students
                         Eligible works must be works created for school projects at a recognized film
                         school.

Special Remarks:
   - Required Video Supplement:
         o Must not exceed 3 minutes. Videos exceeding 3-minute limit will be cut-off at the 3
           minute mark and not shown to juries during judging.
         o A 45-sec version must also be provided for award presentation purposes in case the
           entry is a Lotus award winner.

DEFINITION:
Ideas that is big enough to work across at least 3 different media.

Juries will look for work that takes advantage of each medium’s strengths, to enhance the core idea. It
should NOT merely replicate the core idea across the different media.




INNOVA Lotus
There are no sub-categories for INNOVA Lotus. All submissions will be judged together,
regardless of their Product or Service or media category. Submission can be single or campaign
entries.

Required Proof of Legitimacy: Original Media Schedule from media agency or Original Client
Endorsement Letter in client’s letterhead must be sent by post.

Special Remarks:
   - Required Video Supplement:
         o Must not exceed 3 minutes. Videos exceeding 3-minute limit will be cut-off at the 3

INNOVA Lotus entries will be judged on their level of genuine innovation, talk-value, and results. The
entry may utilize only one media or across multiple media.

Budget is irrelevant and submissions will be accepted from any category.

INNOVA Lotus will be presented to world-class concepts that have made a dramatic impact on the
marketplace - i.e. unique, “landmark” ideas, technologies, designs, applications or creative properties
that have pushed Asia’s marketing industry into unchartered territory.

DEFINITION:
Lotus Roots is an award category unique to ADFEST. It is inspired by ADFEST’s permanent tagline, ‘Made
in Asia’ and rewards work that is rooted in the rich legacies, history and traditions of local cultures.
