chosen the book “Reclaiming the L Word” for its
next study to begin on February 28. The group
meets each Monday from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in
the library. The book encourages us as Lutherans
to embrace our tradition as we reach out to our
community and world. This book will challenge us
as we as a congregation continue to vision for our
future. We encourage anyone who is interested to
join us.

Look for information soon about the exciting
opportunity for our 4th -6th graders to be
“campers” and our 7th-12th grade youth to be their
“counselors” . The staff from Voyageurs Lutheran
Ministry (VLM) will be helping to lead worship
alongside our youth.

THE FIVE LENTEN WEDNESDAY EVENINGS will
concentration on the “Artisans of the Crucifixion”.
Four men and one women will present to us in monolog
a testimony about what it was like to be a person who
prepared one of the items used during Jesus’ trial and
crucifixion. Below is a schedule:

(Continued on the next 2 slides)
Wednesday, March 30 – The Testimony of the
Blacksmith (the one who forged the nails which were
pounded into Jesus’ hands and feet) by Gerry Delaney

Wednesday, April 6 – The Testimony of the Carpenter
(the one who constructed the beams for the cross on
which Jesus hung and died) by Erik Sanbeck

Wednesday April 13 – The Testimony of the Stone
Mason (the one who carved out the rock to prepare the
tomb for Jesus’ body) by Walt Sauerbrei
These short monologs will help us view the crucifixion
from the eyes of people who might have been there.
Plan now to come for a meal before the worship and
then listen to the words these unique people have to
say.
Our worship will again use the Holden Prayer Evening
Prayer service with leaders from both our choir and
our youth. We will have a table with candles available
for lighting in the form of a cross during the prayers.
