The political unrest which started in
Tunisia has spread like a wave bringing
about radical change in the region. The
rulers who cared little about the people
and were busy minting money are now
facing the ire of the masses. I think there
are two main reasons for this political
unrest. First, the approach of some lead-
ers to talk big about development, liberal-
ism and human rights on paper, but do
nothing for the people. Secondly, there are
leaders who are only keen to remain in
power and want their sons to be the head
of the country after their death. Real Students carry placards during a sit-in against Libyan leader Moamer Qadhafi, in Beirut, on Wednesday. (REUTERS)
