Orbis S.A. (Orbis) is one of the biggest tourism and hotel groups in Poland and Central Europe. Orbis S.A. is a parent

company of Orbis Group. The group provides services in the hotel, domestic and international coach transport, travel

agent, tour operator, car rental and lease and games of chance sectors. The Group operates through various subsidiaries

and affiliates, which include Hekon Hotele Ekonomiczne SA, Orbis Kontrakty sp. z o.o., PBP Orbis sp. z.o.o., Orbis

Transport sp. z o.o., and Orbis Casino sp. z o.o. Orbis S.A. operates 41 hotels under the brand names, Novotel, Mercure,

Sofitel, Orbis Hotels and Holiday Inn. The group is headquartered at Warsaw, Poland.





Financial Performance



The company reported revenues of (Polish Zloty) PLN 1,175.61 million during the fiscal year ended December 2008, an

increase of 0.97% over 2007. The operating profit of the company was PLN 60.74 million during the fiscal year 2008, a

decrease of 70.96% from 2007. The net profit of the company was PLN 26.52 million during the fiscal year 2008, a

decrease of 82.83% from 2007.

Orbis S.A. - Business Description



Orbis S.A. (Orbis) operates as the parent company of Orbis Group. The group’s core business activities include provision

of hotel and catering services, including accompanying services; organization and services related to tourism in Poland

and abroad; and organization of transport using all modes of transportation.



Orbis S.A. operates 41 hotels located in 27 towns, cities and resorts in Poland. It has an operating capacity of 8,323

rooms. These hotels are operated under the brands Novotel, Sofitel, Mercure, Orbis Hotels and Holiday Inn. Orbit S.A.

also manages two hotels under a management contract – Mercure Fryderyk Chopin in Warsaw and Sofitel Wroclaw. It

also owns seven hotel buildings which operate under the brand Etap and one hotel operating under the brand Mercure.



Through these hotels, the company offers a comprehensive range of food and beverages, along with professionally

equipped conference halls and business centers. The hotels also feature recreational facilities and spa.



Orbis S.A. along with Hekon-Hotele Ekonomiczne S.A., UAB Hekon and Orbis Kontrakty Sp. z o.o. jointly form the Orbis

Hotel Group. The Orbis Hotel Group is the largest hotel network in Poland and Central Europe. The group operates 60

hotels altogether and manages three properties. Apart from this, the Group also includes hotels operating under the

brands, Ibis and Etap.



The group hotel offers services of 5-star to 1-star standard, with a majority in the 3-star category. Out of the total rooms

held by the Group, 30% is owned by Novotel, 29% by Orbis Hotels, 17% by Mercure, 11% by Ibis, 4% each by Sofitel and

Etap, 3% by Holiday Inn and 2% by Vilnius.



The Group operates through various subsidiaries and affiliates, which include Hekon Hotele Ekonomiczne SA, Orbis

Kontrakty sp. z o.o., PBP Orbis sp. z.o.o., Orbis Transport sp. z o.o., and Orbis Casino sp. z o.o. Hekon Hotele

Ekonomiczne SA is engaged in hotel management, while Orbis Kontrakty sp. z o.o. is active in hotel supply management.

PBP Orbis sp. z.o.o. operates with the two brands namely, Orbis Travel and Orbis Transport, which are engaged into

domestic and international travel services. Orbis Transport sp. z o.o. is engaged into passenger bus services, car rental

and parking lots management. Orbis Casino sp. z o.o. operates ten casinos and five gaming clubs.
