WBC, Cellular/WBC Cast                                CM-1, 2        Urine
Case History: This urine specimen was obtained from a 57 year-old female complaining of
sudden onset of fever, nausea, vomiting and generalized aches. Urinalysis results are:
Color/appearance - gold/cloudy; pH - 6.5; blood - 2+; nitrite - positive; leukocyte esterase
- 3+; ketone - trace; glucose, bile, and bilirubin - negative.

Trichomonas, RBC                                     CM-3, 4          Urine

Case History: This specimen was obtained from a 23-year old sexually active woman
complaining of vaginal discomfort, increased discharge and dysuria.



Clue Cell, WBC                                       CM-5, 6        Vaginal

Case History: This vaginal specimen was obtained from a 19 year old female who
complains of an unpleasant smelling vaginal discharge.


                                                                      Skin
Negative for yeast/fungus                               CM-7
                                                                  Scraping

Case History: This specimen was obtained from a 43 year old woman who complains of
dry, itchy patches of skin on her hands and feet.


Negative for Pinworm                                    CM-8      Pinworm

Case History: This specimen was obtained from a 6-year old girl who is reported to
recently have begun making very frequent requests to go to the bathroom.


Positive Fern Test                                  CM-9           Fern Educational
Case History: This specimen was obtained from a 32 year old pregnant woman that was
23 weeks into the pregnancy and experiencing pre-term labor. The vaginal fluid was tested
for pH (7.5) and ferning.
