Applications are invited for a British Heart Foundation PhD studentship
to investigate the role of the endothelial cell junctional adhesion molecule
PECAM-1 and other related molecules in leukocyte migration and
activation at inflammatory sites. The appointee will join an
internationally recognised and highly motivated team of young scientists
investigating the molecular interactions involved in leukocyte emigration.
The successful candidate will gain a thorough training in specialized
models of leukocyte trafficking, assays of cell activation and a wide range
of microscopy techniques. Applicants must be enthusiastic graduates
with, or expecting to obtain, a 2:1 or first class degree in biological
sciences with an interest in inflammation.

The studentship will provide a starting stipend with a minimum of
£19,508 and cover the cost of tuition fees at the Home/EU rate.
Non EU applicants will have to fund the difference between home and
overseas tuition fees themselves, approximately £8000.00/annum for a
minimum of three years.
