                         Octagon Barn Art Shingles:
SLO County’s Most Unique and Affordable Artwork

Local South County artists from El Camino Art Association have been transforming old redwood
shingles pulled from The Land Conservancy’s Octagon Barn into unique pieces of artwork at bargain
prices.

With a modest $35 price tag, these original paintings are not only affordable but they also raise funds
to help complete the Octagon Barn Center and to provide South County youth art scholarships. Plus,
the shingle itself is a historic keepsake since it has supported the happenings at the old Barn for over
100-years.

“Here’s an opportunity to purchase hand-painted historical artwork unique to San Luis Obispo for
just $35,” commented Wende David, Land Conservancy Development Director. “This fundraising
effort supports the good work of two local nonprofits at a price that nearly everyone can afford.”

Full shingles measure approximately 6 by 36 inches and can be found with either horizontal or vertical
paintings, most of which feature Barn-related scenes. Half shingles measure 6 by 18 inches and cost
just $20. Custom design is also available for $50. All shingles are signed by the artist and include a
certificate of authenticity from The Land Conservancy and El Camino Art Association.
