                                  2011 GOALS AND OBJECTIVES
        DRIVE IMPACT: ENHANCE OUR CORE PRODUCT
        Objective: Make impact a consistent function of our coverage while strengthening AINN’s core
        coverage areas.
        Measure of success: e full network will average at least 6 impacts per writer by the end of 2011.
        e network will also attain at least one multi-state impact or an impact at the national level as
        the function of collaboration by a working group. 

        Objective: Build a network of allies who can extend the reach and impact of our journalism, and
        open our community as a shared power source.
        Measure of Success: AINN will develop at least two new categories of products to engage our
        audience and partners in new ways. AINN will develop at least six new relationships in broadcast
        media for amplifying our stories at the national and local levels.

        INCREASE SELF-SUSTAINABILITY
        Objective: Cultivate a larger group of core donors, increasing the funding stream for AINN while
        maintaining diversity and stability.
        Measure of Success: AINN will raise at least $2.3 million in 2011. AINN will work towards in-
        creasing the media donation amount while ensuring no one funder provides over 20 percent of the
        year’s giving.

        Objective: Increase ad sales.
        Measure of Success: By the end of the year, 2011 ad sales will increase to at least $8.00 per thou-
        sand views (RPM), a 26 percent increase over 2010.

        Objective: Diversify AINN’s earned income sources.
        Measure of Success: By the end of 2011, AINN will have developed a new separate funding
        stream outside of donors and advertising.

        Objective: Broaden and strengthen the ownership stakeholders have in ensuring AINN is sus-
        tainable and successful organization.
        Measure of Success: Over the course of 2011, we will grow and engage an Advisory Council while
        also expanding the Board of Directors to include two new members.

        Objective: Expand AINN’s readership among influentials and decision makers, as well as the
        general public.
        Measure of Success: By year end, page views for the network will be at 10,400,000, a 15 percent
        increase over 2010‘s page views.
