August 7 – 17

Welcome to the 18th annual
SummerWorks Theatre Festival
Toronto’s Indie Theatre
and Arts Festival.
SummerWorks is a festival of great art.
When you ask someone what is special about
SummerWorks, the answer is almost always: Its
relationship to Artistry.
SummerWorks is a place where artists come
to explore great artistic questions, and present
them to an artistic audience. What is an
artistic audience? Anyone who is interested
in the excitement derived from great art.
What is great art? Anything that dares to be
brave in its pursuit.
This year, the SummerWorks Festival offers
you some of the bravest independent theatre,
music and performance in the city.
It is a great privilege to be able to call myself
Artistic Producer of this incredible festival
and an honour to welcome you to this, the 18th
annual SummerWorks Theatre Festival.
Welcome to what will be, undoubtedly, another
unforgettable year.

Michael Rubenfeld
Artistic Producer
