Life is a stage for this writer of over 18 years. With roots in the performing arts, Iʼm a versatile writer who has
touched it all – advertising, entertainment, non-fiction, cartooning, and oodles more. Fan of brands? Hereʼs a
short list of some Iʼve worked on: Sears, Kmart, Landsʼ End, Zappos, Leap Frog, Walt Disney, Wells Fargo,
Mattel, Nickelodeon, Marvel, Hard Rock Hotel, Macyʼs, and Coca-Cola. My fingers have written furiously for all
sorts of mediums as well – interactive, broadcast, stage, print, guerilla, publishing, and multi-media. Never shy
of an audience, Iʼve led teams and presentations, and have been certified as a facilitator and trainer in focused

EXPERIENCE
Senior Writer, Sears Holdings, Chicago, IL. September 2009 – Present
Develop and execute consumer-facing content for Sears.com and Kmart.com. Work closely with information
architects, developers and strategists to produce a top-notch user experience. Responsible for brand voice and
innovative content initiatives. Lead writer on several high profile projects, including several interactive
experiences for home electronics, apparel, and more.

Senior Writer, Contract, June 2008 – September 2009
Disney Marketing & Entertainment - Responsible for developing brand-focused copy and content for several
areas of the company, including Alliance Marketing, Disney Consumer Products, Disney Entertainment, and
Adventures by Disney. Created microsite concepts and content, TV and radio campaigns, SEO copy, print
concepts, and show scripts.
Zappos - Created product and editorial content for leading web retailerʼs fall 2009 line-up. Project included
catalog spreads, catalog title, and editorial content for web creative.

Associate Creative Director, The Image Group, Holland, MI. August 2006 – July 2008
Primary writer for all agency clients in print, broadcast, packaging, interactive and guerilla. Developed and
managed creative in healthcare, education, non-profit, B2B, and manufacturing. Implemented new
brainstorming techniques and value-added services. Developed new strategies for concepting and led the
redesign of creative environment. Lead on various video projects (directed, produced, cast, edited). Voice-over
talent for various broadcast projects. 2008 Addy winner.

Senior Writer, Leap Frog, San Francisco, CA. February 2006 – August 2006
Responsible for creating all copy and content pertaining to new line of products, including brand concepts,
scripts, packaging designs, marketing campaigns, and interactive. Heavily involved in toy development and
design to ensure proper educational content and entertainment value. Directed talent for voice-overs.
Instrumental in market research and focus group testing with mothers and children. Lead content designer for
launching of five new toy products. Certified as brainstorm facilitator and trainer.

Senior Writer-Contract, Wild Planet Toys, San Francisco, CA. August 2005 – February 2006
Primary writer for entire line of toys and products, including content for web, packaging, ad campaigns,
catalogs, and promotional materials. Lead on 2006 Toy Fair product catalog. Created product names,
backstories, and taglines for new products; heavily involved in toy launches.
Senior Copywriter, Milesbrand, Inc., Denver, CO. January 2004 – January 2005
Created branding campaigns for direct mail, interactive, print, and broadcast for leading Denver ad agency.
Head writer for launching of Perkins Rowe community in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Silver Award at the 2005
National Association of Home Builders Nationals for radio campaign.

Senior Copywriter, NBC Universal, Orlando, FL. February 2001 – January 2004
Responsible for advertising creative for two theme parks, three hotels and major entertainment complex.
Worked closely with internal teams to communicate brand through print, broadcast, promotional materials,
web, signage, and more. Created copy for licensed partners, including Marvel Comics, Dr. Seuss Enterprises,
Nickelodeon, Hanna-Barbera, and Coca-Cola. Special events writer: Grinchmas, Macyʼs Parade, Grad Bash
(print, collateral, TV, radio). Helped increase sales for Rock The Universe by 18%; helped reach goal of pre-
sale tickets for Grad Bash 2003. Directed broadcast talent for radio and television projects.

Lead creative on all projects for Group & Convention Marketing (print, broadcast, interactive). Wrote meetings
specific copy for Disneyʼs five convention resorts and four theme parks. Created advertorials for leading
publications in meetings industry. Cast and directed Convention Center media project.

Responsible for all creative writing and production for two high-profile radio stations. Managed production and
supervised 6+ employees. Developed on-air campaigns and promotions for 50+ regional clients. Winner of
1997 MAB (Michigan Association of Broadcasters) “Excellence Award”.

Head Copywriter/Producer, Midwest Radio Group, Kalamazoo, MI. September 1995 – May 1997
Responsible for all on-air creative for two radio stations. Created campaigns and attended client meetings to
ensure delivery of brand-focused creative. Helped to increase cold-call sales with new spec advertising.

Head Copywriter/Producer, WIMI/WJMS, Ironwood, MI. June 1991 – August 1995
Wrote and produced radio commercials for leading regional radio station. Implemented new sound effects
library and designed new client brief formats for sales and production teams. Ran two on air shows on the
