Protein Dance: Research and Development (Sept 2009)
I participated in the research and development of a new work by Protein Dance’s artistic director Luca
Silvestrini as part of Choreodrome 2009.

Stephan Koplowitz: Taskforce Liquid Landscapes (June 2009)
As an international member of Taskforce I performed and developed partially improvised performances
in site-specific locations around Devon. Taskforce is directed by Bessie Award-winning choreographer
Stephan Koplowitz and Liquid Landscapes included 6 pieces linked by the theme of water. The process
and performances were documented by film maker Gorav Kalyan.

Iratik Dance Theatre (March 2009 - present)
Iratik Dance Theatre is a new company directed by David Watson. I am one of 8 dancers contributing to
the development of new work.

i:D By Leila McMillan (Dec 2008 – present)
As a member of Leila McMillan Dance Company I performed in i:D a high-energy piece including
explosive movement about urban graffiti. This piece by Blueprint Bursary winner Leila McMillan is
performed by 5 highly physical female performers. It was performed at The Place, Stratford Circus and
Shunt Lounge.

Research and Development for Cope by Kieran Sheehan (Aug 2008 - present)
I am involved in research and development towards Kieran Sheehan’s new piece Cope exploring themes
of domestic abuse and trauma. He has been awarded the Marion North Mentoring Scheme bursary for
the development of this work.

Katharine Fry The time is 15:15 (2009) and Matin Après Midi (2006)
I have performed in two of Katherine Fry’s promenade works exploring repetition and ritual.
Performances were at The Camden Peoples Theatre and The Space.

Mikrokosmos by Transition_Opera (October 2008 & Dec 2009)
I have the sole dance role in Mikrokosmos a work by critically acclaimed Transition_Opera. This hour-
long performance to Bartok’s seminal piano studies consists of solo movement accompanied by live
video projections of me. Performances include Wilton’s Music Hall and The Kings Place.

Taking Places directed by Lizzi Kew-Ross (Dec 2008 – Feb 2009)
Taking Places was an improvised performance as part of In the MOMENT, a festival of improvised music
and dance at Laban. The piece blurred the traditional boundaries between musician and dancer.

Upswing Research and Development (August 2008 – present)
My research and development work with UpSwing Aerial has included a week-long residency focusing
on a new biographical work Fallen. Through exploration into the integration of dance and aerial work I
have been developing my skills in rope, silk, trapeze and harness.

Transitions Dance Company (September 2007 – July 2008)
I was a member of Transitions, Laban’s postgraduate dance company. I engaged in choreographic
processes with, and performed in works by Allison Brown, Miguel Pereira and Lost Dog. I participated in
a research project with Rosemary Butcher and worked with Valerie Preston-Dunlop in a reconstruction
of work by Rudolf Laban. The tour included dates in Norway, Ireland and the U.K.

Off the Wall by Stan Wont Dance (July 2007)
I performed in this large scale multi-discipline performance on London’s South Bank that included
dance, circus, choral and parkour artists. I also assisted local young people who performed in the piece.

These Are Also Wings (April 2007)
These Are Also Wings was a site specific performance event/fashion show which I performed in. It was
led by artists Goshka Macuga and DaDadandy at Selfridges & Co on Oxford St.

Choreographer
BBC Learning Dance Films for Lambent Productions (Sept – Nov 2009)
I am currently developing and choreographing 3 dance films for BBC learning. The short films are aimed
at primary aged children and will be set in site specific locations.

The Gutter Press by Rat Pack Productions (July/August 2009)
I choreographed a cast of 13 actors, singers and dancers including Abi Titmuss in a comical opera about
the paparazzi. It was performed at the Riverside Studios as part of the Tete a Tete opera festival.

Grimethorpe Race by Rachel Parish & Elizabeth Newman (Aug 2009)
I choreographed and movement directed 10 actor-musicians for this short innovative Opera for the
Grimebourne Opera festival at the Arcola Theatre.

UpsideDance (2007 - present)
As the artistic director of UpsideDance I choreograph, perform in and coordinate the work of the
company. We have performed in partially improvised site-specific pieces at Camp Bestival 2008 and
2009 as well as at Truck Festival 2007. I am currently developing new work for touring in 2010.

Roald Dahl’s Cinderella (July 2009)
I choreographed a musical version of Roald Dahl’s Cinderella in July 2009 over a 3 day Brighton & Hove
Music Arts and Study Support intensive summer course for seventy five 8-11 year olds.

The Silents (April – May 2009)
I was the movement director for the play The Silents by Threebird Theatre. It has been performed at
the Albany and at the Brighton Fringe Festival and explores the limits of reality and imagination.

Venus & Adonis by Transition_Opera (Nov 2008 – Feb 2009)
I choreographed for a cast of 14 for Venus and Adonis by Transition_Opera performed at Wilton’s Music
Hall. It was an integrated work of baroque music, digital technology and dance performed for four
nights. It was reviewed as including “deft choreography” - MusicOMH

Educator
Essential Alston, Workshop leader (October 2008 – present)
In my role as an Essential Alston workshop leader I work in schools around the country facilitating
sessions for young people based on Richard Alston Dance Company’s current repertoire.

Iceandfire Theatre, Movement Practitioner (Jan 2009 – present)
I facilitate family movement sessions for Children Together for Asylum seekers & their children.

Evening Classes, Laban (2008 - present)
At Laban I teach level 1 & 2 adult contemporary technique classes as well as ‘Introduction to
contemporary dance’ technique classes to young people aged between 11 and 15. I have also led
technique and creative workshops for teenagers .

Laban’s Centre for Advanced Training (Jan 2007 – July 2008)
I was a creative teacher and teaching assistant at Laban’s CAT, an intensive dance training scheme for
exceptionally talented young people aged 13-18. I assisted workshops led by professional companies
such as Protein Dance, New Adventures, Random Dance and Hofesh Schecter. I was also part of the
creative team for the piece Space Between the Notes choreographed by Lizzie Kew-Ross which was
performed by the young people at Sadlers Wells Excellent show in July 2008.

Brighton and Hove Youth Dance Company (Oct 2007 – present)
As a guest artist for the company I have taught technique classes, led creative workshops and
auditioned new members. In 2009 I assisted a project led by the Hofesh Schecter Dance Company.
