        American Express and Fortis to create new insurance
                                     partnership

Fortis (Insurance, UK) and American Express have today announced a new five-year
strategic partnership to deliver fully branded motor and household insurance products to   Fortis House

Managed through Fortis’ customer sales and service administration centre in Stoke-on-
Trent, Fortis will offer maximised quote coverage and competitiveness for American
Express’ customers, via its panel of insurers.


In addition, Fortis’ will offer premium, Defaqto 5 Star Rated, motor and home products
to American Express customers later in the year.

after securing a number of significant new affinity deals during 2009. The strength of
the American Express brand reinforces our capability in the motor and household
