I. Mission Statement

“The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me, because the LORD has anointed
me to bring good news to the afflicted; He has sent me to bind up the
        brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to captives and freedom to prisoners;
to grant those who mourn in Zion, giving them a garland instead of
ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, the mantle of praise
instead of a spirit of fainting.”
                                                                 - Isaiah 61:1 & 3

In Isaiah 61, God tells us that He has sent us to bring good news to the afflicted
and proclaim freedom to the captives. We believe that sickness or bondage of
any kind to be an obstacle that God wants to see removed from His children.

God’s desire to heal is well documented in scripture;
healing is a display not only of God’s power, but His love and compassion.

Divine Appointments team members are trained believers, with a desire to see
people healed and set free. Our method is to minister to seekers, as a team through

II. How We Operate

LONE RANGERS. It’s God work, we are just the conduits. We are Spirit led people who
minister through prayer to save the lost, release people from bondage, heal the sick and
encourage the discouraged. Through prayer we minister and stand for the will of God.

We must reflect:
   Unity
    Love
    Humility
    Single-mindedness
    Compassion
    Confidentiality

God’s compassion will result in His power providing liberty. Human compassion leads
to frustration and dependence.

 Minister in hope and expectancy.
 Always pray positive prayers into the seeker.
 Always bless what God is doing.
 Always point the seeker to God.

Jesus sent out ministry teams, teams of trained people can minister to more people than
the Pastors can during a Sunday morning altar call.

 A Ministry Team can give people a chance to do “hands on” ministry
 Teams help us protect ourselves from pride and the “super star mentality”
 Teams help hold us accountable
 When on a team, you can draw strength from one another
 You can learn from others
    Replenish your reserves
    Protection
 Encouragement when someone confirms what you have heard from the Lord

III. Confidentiality

Part of creating an atmosphere of safety is confidentiality. Those who share themselves
with us have the right to expect us to treat their situation in confidence.

Integrity demands that we refrain from repeating the intimate experience with others.
The only time you are to discuss the details is in your briefing and de-briefing.

The only time outside of the briefing or de-briefing is if their life or someone else’s’ life is
in danger. Then you go to the Prayer Coordinator.

IV. The Model for Ministry Teams

Pastoral – Shepherd Model

The model which we embrace is the pastoral – shepherd model of Jesus.

“Jesus was going through all the cities and villages, teaching in their
synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom, and healing
every kind of disease and every kind of sickness. Seeing the people, He
felt compassion for them, because they were distressed and dispirited like
sheep without a shepherd. Then He said to His disciples, "The harvest is
plentiful, but the workers are few. "Therefore beseech the Lord of the
harvest to send out workers into His harvest."
                                                              - Matthew 9:35-38.

God cares for His sheep and He has come to minister to those who are lost, imprisoned,
discouraged and wounded.

We are totally dependent upon the Spirit of God as we seek Him to fulfill His mission.
We are asking the Holy Spirit to show us what the Father is doing and saying, for we can
do nothing of ourselves. When someone comes to you for prayer, they are really coming
to receive from God. God alone is the source of what the person seeks. Our method is to
find out what God is doing and bless that work.

“Therefore Jesus answered and was saying to them, „Truly, truly, I say to
you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, unless it is something He sees the
Father doing; for whatever the Father does, these things the Son also
does in like manner. For the Father loves the Son, and shows Him all
things that He Himself is doing; and the Father will show Him greater
works than these, so that you will marvel.’”
                                                              - John 5:19-20

“I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him,
he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing.”
                                                            - John 15:5

Faulty Methods

 Psychiatrist Method – this method relies on going back and digging up the past.
It uses regression in order to find root causes. It assumes that health must begin
by identifying what happened in the past which is causing the present trouble.
Our Pastoral-Shepherd Model relies on the Holy Spirit and not a method. We
deal with the past only as the Holy Spirit leads. We have seen people healed
without knowing the specifics of their past.

New Haven House of Prayer . 6262 Creekside Green . The Woodlands, TX 77389 . (281)681-9949
New Haven House of Prayer
Divine Appointment Training

 Prophetic Method – this method employs a directive or authoritarian approach.
“Here is your problem and this is what you must do with it.” The Prophetic
method communicates the idea the “I am hear to straighten you out.”

Our Pastoral-Shepherd Model seeks to be sensitive to the seeker. Yes, we do
speak the truth, but in love. We do not have the right to command, but have been
called to come alongside the seeker to facilitate health.

 Past Experiences Method – As we live and minister, we begin to categorize our
experiences. Sometimes we dig up past experiences and try to minister with

Our Pastoral-Shepherd Model seeks to avoid casting ministry in the light of past
experiences. Our past experiences are valid and can be used to minister to
others; however, it is wrong to rely on what worked in a similar situation when
we are to rely on the Holy Spirit to direct us. We need to use God’s agenda, not

 Parenting Method – The Parenting method seeks to take responsibility for the
individual in order to help or get them out of the mess they are in. Some seekers
want others to make all the decisions for them and to fix everything.

Our Pastoral – Shepherd Model seeks to lead people to the only one who can
meet their needs. Jesus! People must learn to take responsibility for themselves,
their actions and their decisions. Ministers must guard against the trap of taking
the burden upon themselves for changing the person’s direction. We must lead
them to make responsible decisions for God. Ultimately, the person may become
angry with you when they discover you cannot meet all of their needs.

In conclusion, the Pastoral – Shepherd model recognizes our role as under-shepherds to
the Chief Shepherd – Jesus. Our task is to find out where He is leading and then lead
the person to encounter Him there.

V. How do Teams Function?

Cultivate Sensitivity to the Holy Spirit

We are totally dependent upon God. Be the tools and the resources that He provides.
God’s grace comes to minister in words of knowledge, wisdom, faith, mercy, prophecy,

Be Available to the Holy Spirit

God desires to use us and to pour Himself out through us.

“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works,
which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.”
                                                           - Ephesians 2:10

Take risks – It is one thing to believe God can use you; it is another thing to step out in
faith and let Him use you. If you have a teachable heart, then you are ready for God to
use you. If you have a word – say it. If you are faithful in the little things then He will
give you much more.

“His master said to him, 'Well done, good and faithful slave. You were
faithful with a few things, I will put you in charge of many things; enter
into the joy of your master.'”
                                                                - Matthew 25:23

 Deal with fear and doubt. Fear can disarm you. Fix your eyes on Jesus, not on
the limitations. Have a sense of expectancy. God is moving. Move with Him.
 Ask the Holy Spirit to open your eyes and heart.
 Be obedient. God will not give his direction to someone who will not obey it.
Following through in obedience to the will of the Lord will cause you to grow in
       the things of the Spirit.
 Spiritual Gifts are tools, not trophies. They are not spiritual merit badges. I
       Corinthians 12:4-11.

Be Sensitive to the Seeker

 Create a safe place. They are hurting, need love and acceptance. It could be
difficult for them to share. They need to know that they are safe.

New Haven House of Prayer . 6262 Creekside Green . The Woodlands, TX 77389 . (281)681-9949
New Haven House of Prayer
Divine Appointment Training

 If a sensitive subject comes up and the seeker is not comfortable – STOP!
 Ask questions about what God is doing with the seeker. Are you ok? Does this
       bear witness with you?
 Point the seeker to God. As God moves, it is sometimes helpful to let the person
pray. Listen to what and how they are praying. Are they mad at God? Do they
have a poor understanding of God’s love? Are they able to be honest with God?
Do you sense a breakthrough as they pray?

Promote Healthy Relational Interaction

As a team – Each member of the team contributes to the health of the team as a whole.
Individualism, pride and jealousy will destroy a team. Unity single-mindedness and
humility position the team to reflect the Kingdom of Christ.

“Therefore if there is any encouragement in Christ, if there is any
consolation of love, if there is any fellowship of the Spirit, if any
affection and compassion, make my joy complete by being of the same
mind, maintaining the same love, united in spirit, intent on one purpose.
Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind
regard one another as more important than yourselves; do not merely
look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of
others. Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus.”
                                                                 - Philippians 2:1-5

As an Orchestra – Team ministry is like an orchestra: different people will have
different parts to play. There needs to be a leader, someone who becomes the active
member. If all the members converge on the seeker at the same time, then confusion
will reign. The leader must be sensitive to both the seeker and the team. The team
members need to develop skillful ways for sharing what God has shown them without
taking control. One way to do this is by submissively asking if you could share what the
Holy Spirit has shown you.

As the Spirit Gifts Individual Members – The Holy Spirit distributes His gifts as He
chooses. Learning to recognize how God works and anoints various team members is
essential to blessing God’s ministry.

“But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each
one individually just as He wills.”
                                                               - I Corinthians 12:11

Through Submission and Accountability – We have been called to submit to and follow
Christ. We are accountable to Him in how we minister and what we do with His gifts.
(John 5:19) Healthy team relationships demand mutual submission and accountability.
(Eph. 5:21). We are to prefer one another, yielding as God directs. Team members not
only submit to one another and to Christ, but also to the Pastors and leaders. They
oversee this ministry as God’s under-shepherds.

“Therefore Jesus answered and was saying to them, „Truly, truly, I say to
, the Son can do nothing of Himself, unless it is something He sees the
Father doing; for whatever the Father does, these things the Son also
                                 does in like manner.‟”
                                                              - John 5:19

“…and be subject to one another in the fear of Christ.”
                                                              - Ephesians 5:21

VI. Building a Team

A seeker contacts the Prayer Coordinator. The PC will obtain the following information
from the Seeker:

    Name
    Phone #
    E-mail
 Why they are needing prayer
 Tell the Seeker what date is available and tell them they will confirm after the
       team is chosen

The PC will then seek the Lord for who should be on the team.

Team members will be contacted by e-mail asking if they are available on a specific date.
REGULARLY. The subject line on your e-mail will be Divine Appointment Team

After the team members have all confirmed, then they will be sent another e-mail giving
the details i.e., team leader, team members, time and some seeker information.

Please start praying when you receive the assignment. If you receive anything from the
Lord concerning the seeker or situation, you should submit it to the team leader in
writing during the briefing before the session. All team members must arrive 30
minutes prior to the session to brief and pray.

Prayer teams normally consist of 3 to 5 members, male and female unless the seeker
requests an all male or female team.

If you have never been on a team before, you will be assigned a team to be an observer.
During the session you will observe and take notes. After the session is over and during
de-brief, then you may ask any questions to the team leader.

VII. Team Leaders

A team leader is assigned by the PC: Male for male seekers, female for female seekers.
Then the Team Leader will assign a scribe to attempt to write down as much as they can
of what the Lord is providing for the seeker. Be prepared to assist in taking notes
and/or scripture references, as they are given to the seeker for their reflection. The
Team Leader needs to be in the foyer to greet and escort the seeker to the assigned
room. Show them where the restroom is. Ask if they want water.

Briefing - The Team Leader will ask what each Team Member has received so far from
the Holy Spirit and brief everyone on it. Pray and ask the Holy Spirit to guide the team.

After the seeker is in the room with all the Team Members the Team Leader will:

 Explain the process to the seeker.
 Ask the seeker what they want God to do for them. Give them approximately 2 to
       3 minutes.
 Encourage the seeker to relax, be open to the Spirit and receive what God has for
them and to be totally honest.
 Ask the seeker not to pray while the team is praying. This can distract from
 Remind the seeker that everything is totally confidential.
 Help channel the comments and prayers of the team to the seeker.
 Help direct the flow of the ministry.
 Sit directly opposite of the seeker.

Debrief - Reflect w/ team members to establish growth and maturity, answering any of
the team’s questions.

In summary the team leader is responsible for:
 Providing the Seeker information, explaining the process
 Overall direction of the team. Be extremely sensitive to what is going on
 Controlling the time (prayer time is usually 45 minutes)
 Paper, pen, tissues and anointing oil
 Must follow up with seeker within 2 days

VIII. Team Members

Develop a servant’s heart. Keep a constant prayer in your heart as you minister. “Lord I
want to be your servant. I want your work to be done in this life. Come Holy Spirit,
show me what to say, what to pray.” Trust that He will use you as His vessel. Just obey.

Consecrate yourself to the Lord. During the briefing pray together that you consecrate
your mind to the Lord. Give Him your lips, your hands and your eyes. Ask Him to use
them to speak His words of life, to bless your hands and your spirit to be a channel of
His love.

Avoid the trap of letting someone else do it. Sometimes we think we are not “spiritual
enough” or “I’m not ready”, or “I have too much baggage.” God may have chosen you as
His vessel for that time. If you are “unavailable”, someone may miss a blessing. Let God
be God in you and let Him work through you.

IX. Intercessors

Intercessors will be assigned to pray for the seeker and the team at the same time the
team is set up. Please check your e-mail regularly. The subject line will be “Divine
Appointment Intercessors Needed.”

 You will pray from home, not at the church during the session.
 Pray for the team members to hear from God and deliver what they received
 Pray for the seeker to be open to what God has for them.
 Prayer before the seeker/team meet is very important for revelation input.

If revelation is received before the prayer session, e-mail the Coordinator before the
session (must be in writing). Your information will be passed on to the leader who has
the responsibility to decide if it fits the situation/seeker.

Intercessory prayer is very important, but due to confidentiality, specific details of the
prayer time will not/cannot be shared with the intercessors.

X. Seeker Information

We are a prayer ministry for healing of physical, spiritual and emotional needs. We seek
Jesus Christ and try to deliver what we receive from Him as accurately as we understand

We do not give directives or counseling.

We are willing to contend and stand with you for your healing as long as you need

Everything said and done is confidential. However, you have the right to share with
whomever you like.

There may be times of silence and/or asking you questions that will help us to pray more
on target.

We will try to document all that has been prayed today and give it to you at the end of
the session. We will not keep a copy of it.

Please pray over everything that will be given to you, testing it by the Spirit of Jesus

XI. General Guidelines
No teaching. No counseling. No meddling. Only deal with the past if the Spirit brings it up.
General Counsel may be given only in reference to what was imparted by the Holy Spirit.

CAUTION: On agreeing with seeker, where conflict between parties is an issue, remember,
there are 2 sides to any dispute. At times seekers come looking for support for their position.
We support God’s position on disputes. We are ambassadors, not “agree”ers.

 Be a risk taker.
 Bring your bible, anointing oil and breath mints.
 Be aware of your body language, the seekers watch us.
 Be attentive to the seeker, pray with your eyes open.
 Allow the leader to lead, that’s why they are called leaders.
 Do not fall into pride.
 All prayer times are confidential; however, the seeker is always free to share.
 Each session can have different dynamics. God has more than 1 way to minister.
 Don’t dominate the prayer time with prayers that begin in Genesis and ends in Revelation.
   Short and to the point.
 Always ask if you can lay hands on the seeker prior to doing so.
 Laying on of hands should be on shoulders or arm and not be intimate. No rubbing,
   caressing or stroking.
 Listen carefully to verbal and non-verbal communication.
 Confront error, sin, etc. in love.
 Look for manifestations of the Spirit. Ask – “What is God doing; what/how are you feeling;
does this/that scripture/prayer means anything to you?”
 Be patient, wait on the Lord, and do not rush.
 Silence is ok.
 Never pronounce anyone healed until God has healed them and it’s confirmed.
 When the Spirit or seekers says “it’s over”, STOP. To go on does not increase the chances of
being healed. The Holy Spirit can work miracles in a short time.
 If mistakes are made, go on seeking to hear from the Lord and do better next time.
 Always have a teachable heart. Be ready for God to instruct you.
 There are times when our revelation, interpretation and application are imperfect.

XII. Conducting Assessment and Evaluation
Feedback and communication are a must to this process. We must be willing to
examine ourselves, to make corrections and continue to grow.

Feedback occurs on 3 levels:
 Between the team and the Holy Spirit (convicting and guiding)
 Between the team members (reflecting)
 Between the team and the Pastor and/or Coordinators (equipping)

After every session you will have a de-briefing to assess and evaluate how you as a team
conducted yourself. You will discuss what each of the team members thought, what you
would do different, the effectiveness of the team, and where you would make
improvements. Fill out the form and the Team Leader gives it to the Prayer Coordinator.
(See form in back of book)

If you feel that there was a problem or something happened in the session, discuss this
with the team leader. If you have an issue with the team leader, discuss it with them. If

XIV. Types of Healings

The QRST Healing Model

Q – Question
  What is the problem?
  What hurts?
 What do you want God to do
R – Reason
 Why is this person hurting?
 Why do they have this condition?
S – Solution
  How shall I pray?
  How are we doing?
  How do I help?
T – Teaching
 Where do they go from here?
 Where does the scripture address this need?

Types of Prayer

 Petition – simple requests; ask the Holy Spirit to come and heal.
 Intercession – in the mind or in the spirit; standing in the gap.
 Command – prayer of authority; warfare; based on the authority God gives or
upon a direct word from God.
 Pronouncement – gift of faith; a declaration that comes from within your spirit
under the unction of the Holy Spirit.

Types of Healing

Healing of the Spirit – Healing of the Spirit is a renewal and restoration of your
relationship with God. Sickness of the spirit is caused by one’s own sin. Healing of the
spirit begins at salvation and continues as an ongoing experience of forgiveness, release
from guilt and condemnation, unworthiness and inferiority.

“How blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered!
How blessed is the man to whom the Lord does not impute iniquity, and
in whose spirit there is no deceit! When I kept silent about my sin, my
body wasted away through my groaning all day long. For day and
night Your hand was heavy upon me; my vitality was drained away as
with the fever heat of summer. I acknowledged my sin to You, and my
iniquity I did not hide; I said, "I will confess my transgressions to the
LORD". And You forgave the guilt of my sin. Therefore, let everyone
who is godly pray to You in a time when You may be found; Surely in a
        flood of great waters they will not reach him. You are my hiding place;
You preserve me from trouble; You surround me with songs of
deliverance. I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you
should go; I will counsel you with My eye upon you. Do not be as the
horse or as the mule which has no understanding, whose trappings
include bit and bridle to hold them in check, otherwise they will not come
near to you. Many are the sorrows of the wicked, but he who trusts in the
LORD, loving-kindness shall surround him. Be glad in the LORD and
rejoice, you righteous ones; and shout for joy, all you who are upright in
                                                                 - Psalm 32

    Healing of Past Hurts
While sickness of the spirit is caused by what we do, sickness of the emotions is
generally caused by what is done to us. It grows out of the hurts done to us by
another person or some experience we have been exposed to in the past. They
affect us in the form of bad memories and weak or wounded emotions. This can
lead us into various forms of sin: depression, a sense of worthlessness and
inferiority, fears and anxiety, etc. This area also includes sin of the parents in the
bloodline of a person; victims of abuse (physical or emotional), children of
     alcoholics, victims of traumatic experiences.

    Healing of the Body
Sickness of the body has its root in physical factors, either organic or functional
disorders. Physical healing seems to be the hardest kind of healing for us to
believe in. it seems easier to pray for something spiritual, rather than something

    Healing of the Demonized
Sickness caused by demonic influence can have all or some of the symptoms of
the first three categories listed above. Therefore, healing this type of sickness
means the expulsion of the demonic influence and the restoration of all affected

“Then a demon-possessed man who was blind and mute was brought to
Jesus, and He healed him, so that the mute man spoke and saw. All the

crowds were amazed, and were saying, "This man cannot be the Son of
David, can he?" But when the Pharisees heard this, they said, "This man
casts out demons only by Beelzebub the ruler of the demons." And
knowing their thoughts Jesus said to them, "Any kingdom divided
against itself is laid waste; and any city or house divided against itself
          will not stand. “If Satan casts out Satan, he is divided against himself;
how then will his kingdom stand? "If I by Beelzebub cast out demons, by
whom do your sons cast them out? For this reason they will be your
judges. “But if I cast out demons by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of
God has come upon you. "Or how can anyone enter the strong man's
house and carry off his property, unless he first binds the strong man?
And then he will plunder his house.”
                                                                 - Matthew 12:22-29

    Healing of Relationships
God has given us precepts to order our relationships with one another. The
violation of these precepts results in broken relationships. The healing of
relationships comes with an exchange of forgiveness and a reapplication of the
precepts of God. Harmonious interpersonal relationships contribute to the
health of the whole community and reflect the kingdom of God.

Dealing with the Demonic

Whenever you minister to the hurting, the possibility exists that the issue or affliction is

The Team Leaders responsibility is to address a demonic presence only when it
manifests itself and as God directs.

See attached apparent demonic list in back of book.

Instructions for the Seeker on How to Walk in the Healing

After the Holy Spirit is done, the team needs to give the seeker instruction from GOD’S
word on how to walk in their healing. Have them read and meditate on specific
passages which address their issue.

 Walk in the light. Admit their need, repent, confess and receive from God.

“…but if we walk in the Light as He Himself is in the Light, we have
fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us
                                     from all sin.”
                                                              - I John 1:7

Divine Appointment Training

 Confess their hurts and sin.

“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our
sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

                                                                  - I John 1:9

    Abide in Christ.

“I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I
in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing.”
                                                            - John 15:5

 Journal. Have them write down what God is showing them. This is helpful in
follow up. Plus promotes honesty to God.

 Accountability. Tell them to get accountable to someone. Stay in touch with
someone from the team until they have walked through their healing. Women
     with women. Men with men.

Instructions in Situations Where Healing Does Not Occur

One of the most meaningful things you can do for a person is to pray for them. Our
prayers, unfortunately, are not guarantees of healing. We desire that everyone be
healed; however, experience tells us that some will not.

Many times people come and seek prayer for a hurt. Instead of revealing the root cause
or healing the specific hurt, God shows up and brings peace, love, hope or faith. Such
grace is a necessary precursor for the person’s healing.

There are a lot of reasons why God would wait to deal with the root cause. Some of
which could be:

 The person is not ready.
 The issue is too deep that God needs to work more with them before the trauma.
 The Team could be ill-equipped for the issue.
 The setting could not be right.
Stay in step with God. Learn to bless what God is doing and He knows what is best.
Then give the seeker the following:

 God has come to set you free and He is not through yet. Healing is a process.
God wants to complete what He started.

“For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in
you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.”
                                                               - Philippians 1:6

 Tell them to pray a daily prayer of dependence, availability and willingness to
 Give them scripture that will build faith or address their needs.
 Tell them that they may return for prayer. They may keep coming until God tells
       them to stop.
 They are to follow up through obedience anything that God has shown them.
 Team Members – God is the source of healing; the team members are a channel
through which God can work. While it is acceptable to ask God why the healing
did not occur, it is inappropriate to fall prey to feelings of failure, discouragement
and frustration. Seeking to find someone or something to blame for the lack of
healing grieves the Holy Spirit. Authority and power simply flow to those who
obey God. Our part is to be as obedient as possible and let God do the rest.

XV. Healing Scriptures
“And He said, „If you will give earnest heed to the voice of the LORD your God,
and do what is right in His sight, and give ear to His commandments, and keep
all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have put on the
Egyptians; for I, the LORD, am your healer.‟”
                                                                    - Exodus 15:26

“For you have made the LORD, my refuge, even the Most High, your dwelling
place. No evil will befall you, nor will any plague come near your tent. For
He will give His angels charge concerning you, to guard you in all your ways.”
                                                                  - Psalm 91:9-11

“Oh give thanks to the LORD, call upon His name; make known His deeds among
the peoples. Sing to Him, sing praises to Him; Speak of all His wonders. Glory in
His holy name; Let the heart of those who seek the LORD be glad. Seek the
LORD and His strength; Seek His face continually. Remember His wonders
which He has done, His marvels and the judgments uttered by His mouth.”
                                                                  - Psalm 103:1-5

distresses. He sent His word and healed them, and delivered them from their

“My son, give attention to my words; Incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let
them depart from your sight; Keep them in the midst of your heart. For they are
life to those who find them and health to all their body. Watch over your heart
with all diligence, for from it flow the springs of life.”
                                                                     - Proverbs 4:20-23

“Surely our grief He Himself bore, and our sorrows He carried; yet we ourselves
esteemed Him stricken, Smitten of God, and afflicted. But He was pierced
through for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; the chastening
for our well-being fell upon Him, and by His scourging we are healed.”
                                                                 - Isaiah 53:4-5

“For I will restore you to health and I will heal you of your wounds,' declares the
LORD, Because they have called you an outcast, saying: "It is Zion; no one
                                          cares for her."'
                                                                    - Jeremiah 30:17

“Jesus was going through all the cities and villages, teaching in their
synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every kind
of disease and every kind of sickness.”

XVI. Apparent Demonic Groupings

The following list can be good and bad. The good is that individuals can study it to get
an understanding of how the enemy works and what potential roots are. Heavy
emphasis on potential. Just because you see a manifestation, does not mean it has to fit
under a particular spirit. Even if you know what spirit it is, you have to take away its
rights. How did it get ground in the person’s life? The danger is that those ministering
in the prayer room will begin to depend on their lists instead of the Holy Spirit. THIS

XVII. Need for Prophecy

All scripture is the New American Standard Version unless noted.

This is a prayer ministry, but remember that prayer is communication between you and
God. Good communication is always two-way. He speaks as we allow Him to. When we
begin the sessions with the seeker, we pray and wait upon the Lord to see what He
would say to us. We have also prayed prior to arriving for the meeting, and sometimes
we have scriptures, or a word of knowledge, as to what the root issue is that The Lord
wants to deal with.

We are a three-part being; body, soul, spirit. So many of our Divine Appointments are
for emotional (soulish) problems, which of course, can also cause physical problems.
Notice that the soul is between the body and the spirit, and the seeker usually has a
block that causes him/her from hearing clearly from God. The mind is the battlefield
where we have strongholds from wrong belief systems, and is where the enemy shoots
his fiery arrows. We desire to be a blessing to the seeker: to unearth the plan of the evil
one: to bless by speaking the word of the Lord!

"I pray that the eyes of your heart (my interpretation is that this is for
the spirit man) may be enlightened, so that you may know what is the
                                     of His calling."
                                                              - Ephesians 1: 18a

Many seekers have lost hope and these need to leave the session with a sense of hope!

"Hope deferred makes the heart sick."
                                                          - Proverbs 13:12a

"I was in the Spirit on the Lord's day, and I heard behind me a loud
voice like the sound of a trumpet."
                                                               - Revelation 1:10

If the seeker is blocked in the soul-ish realm in a certain area, they cannot go to a new
place in the spirit. They cannot hear even a loud voice.

“And I turned to see the voice that was speaking to me."
                                                              - Revelation 1: 12a

They cannot see the voice. Voice - concordance 5456 from “phao” (to shine). This voice
wants to shine light into their hearts, but they cannot see.

"that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of Glory, may give
you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of him."
                                                              - Ephesians 1: 17

 The seeker comes to hear what The Lord has to say.
 The Lord speaks through scriptures and prophetic utterances.
 Revelation of the WORD (Jesus is THE WORD) has ability to release POWER!

Rev. 19: lb, "For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy."
Webster's says testimony is taken from "testis"(a witness: see TESTIFY)
 “Testify” - vs. 1. "To bear witness to; affirm; declare, under oath in court. (Heb 6:
13, 'For when God made the promise to Abraham, since He could swear by no
one greater, He swore by Himself')
 “To be evidence of" – vs.2. When prophecy comes forth Jesus is giving a
testimony from the HIGHEST COURT to the seeker.
Eph 1:18a, "I pray that the eyes of your heart (my interpretation is that this is for the
spirit man) may be enlightened, so that you may know what is the hope of His calling.”

The Importance of Prophecy

"For God knows that in the day you eat from it your eyes will be opened,
and you will be like God, knowing good and evil. " vi; 7-8a, "The eyes of
both of them were opened, and they knew they were naked; and they
sewed fig leaves together and made themselves loin coverings. And they
heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the
                                         day. "
                                                              - Genesis 3:5

 Up to this point, they only knew God and his good provisions.
 Eyes were opened to the natural realm. This is where our soulish man operates.
 Heard the sound of God instead of seeing Him (God is light and can be seen
 Scientists are saying that light and sound are at two different spectrums. Since
God's Word is holding everything together, His Word is both light and sound.

 When God established his people Israel, he used prophecy. Prophecy
ESTABLISHES GOD'S PURPOSE. Look at prophecy after the flood, (Enoch
       before the flood, Jude 14-15).
 To Abram by The Lord in Gen 12:2, "make you a great nation."
 To Isaac, by The Lord, in Gen 26: 3, "to you and you descendants I will give all
       these lands".
 To Jacob in Gen 27: 28-29 from the blessing spoken over him by Isaac his Father.
Jacob's name change to Israel after struggle. (Representative of our name change after
we struggle with Holy Spirit and our name changed to Christian.) Leah prophesied
naming her children: who became the nation of Israel, and released The Lord's purpose
through their lives. GEN: 29:31-35.
 VS. 32 Reuben "Lord has seen." sight restored. (Gen 3:7)
 VS. 33 Simeon "Lord heard" hearing restored (Gen 3:18)
 VS. 34 Levi "My husband will become attached to me." Jesus is husband to Israel
and his church. (restoration of relationship) Gen 3:24.
 VS. 35 Judah" I will praise the Lord." (Restoration brings praise.)

God used prophesy to speak THE WORD to form his nation, and RESTORE
communication and fellowship that was lost in the fall. Note that He chose to have a
human speak these very important words. Jesus as a human prophesied in Mt. 16:18b,
"and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of Hades shall not overpower
it." Jesus prophesied the church will be established and will not be overpowered. Divine
Appointments are about His Church being set free, physically and soulishly so the spirit
man has hope!

Prophecy within Scriptural Parameters

To build up; to urge earnestly; to comfort.

"But everyone who prophesies speaks to men for edification and
                            exhortation and consolation;"
                                                           - 1 Corinthians 14:3

Biblical Prophecy:
 Will never contradict scripture. (We need to increase our knowledge of the
 Yield to Holy Spirit's moving. (Timing)

 Prophecy may come as a word heard, superimposed picture, a sense of knowing.
Be aware that God wants to increase your communication with Him and will
reveal Himself in new ways. Don't limit God and say that He talks with you ONLY
in a certain way. Rom. 12:6 says to prophesy according to your faith. (Let God
       stretch your faith muscle.)
 The Holy Spirit may also have you involve the seeker in a prophetic act. As Jesus
walked with his disciples, he showed them natural things to teach a Godly
principle. Thus sight and hearing were both engaged to teach spiritual!

dealt with before coming for deliverance.

In order for the deliverance to be successful there can be NO unforgiveness in your life.
Unforgiveness is legal permission for demons to torment believers: Matthew 18:23-35.
Do not neglect the area of forgiveness for yourself. You must also forgive yourself in
order to be free. A typical prayer might be as follows:

"Father, because You have forgiven me I choose to forgive others, everyone who has
hurt me, lied to me or disappointed me, I forgive. I confess unforgiveness as sin and
repent of it. I receive Your forgiveness and apply it my life by forgiving myself. Thank
You for Your grace and mercy in Jesus Name. Amen."

If there was ever any involvement (however innocent), in Satanic activities, witchcraft,
cults or occultic activities they must be renounced. Typical prayer:

"Father, I renounce any bond, or agreement I ever made with Satan and the kingdom
of darkness. I know there can be no valid contract with a liar and I renounce any
words, oaths or pledges made to Satan and I choose to be totally free from them. I
choose to be cleansed from any ties with Satan in Jesus Name. Amen."

Sexual relationships outside of marriage...are called "Soul Ties" and each one could be
an entry point for demon spirits. The ties must be broken by confessing them as sin and
choosing to be free from them. I will include a prayer you can pray. It would be best if
you could do so by denouncing each one by name, do the best you can with that. The
deliverance process involves canceling permission of evil spirits to be in our life. This
prayer and renunciation will cancel consent that was granted through soul ties. The
prayer can be something like this:

"Father, I confess the sin of sexual relations outside of marriage. I renounce that sinful
activity in Jesus' Name. I call back that part of me that was given to another, and I
refuse that part of another that may have come to me. I denounce soul ties with and
choose to be free in Jesus Christ' Name. Amen"

False religions must also be confessed and renounced:

“Father, because of my relationship to You through Your Son Jesus Christ and in His
Name I renounce all associations with pagan worship, false gods, false deities and any
involvement with them. I forgive my ancestors for their involvement and break any
ties to any religion that denies the deity of the Lord Jesus. He alone is Lord, He alone
can forgive sin and give man eternal life. I fully trust Jesus Christ and I separate
myself from the sins of my ancestors in Jesus Christ‟s name.
