1973 -1976             I studied for a Bsc degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of
                       Nairobi sponsored by Bamburi Portland Cement Company Ltd (In Mombasa,
                       Kenya)

1976                   I graduated with a Bsc degree in Mechanical Engineering (Upper Second
                       Class Honours) at the University of Nairobi

1976 -1977             I worked as a Trainee Graduate Engineer at Bamburi Portland Cement
                       Ltd, in Mombasa, Kenya

1977 -1979             I enrolled and studied for an Msc. Degree programme in mechanical
                       Engineering at the University of Nairobi.

(e) 6/12/78           I was appointed a Tutorial Fellow in the Department of Mechanical
                      Engineering, University of Nairobi.


(f) 1980              I graduated with an Msc degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University
                      of Nairobi.


(g) 26/6/80           I was appointed to the position of lecturer in the Department of Mechanical
                      Engineering at the University of Nairobi.


(h) 1981 -1986      I was in France pursuing my Doctorate studies.


(i) 21st October 1981 I studied French language at the Center Audio-Visuel de Langues Modernes at
                        Vichy, France) of the Universite de Clermont and I graduated with an Advanced
                        Level Diploma in French Language.


(j) 1982-1983         I studied for a one-year preparatory programme leading to my Doctorate
                      programme (Diploma d'Etudes Approfondies) with a Speciality in Solid
                      Mechanics and Construction Mechanics at the University of Poitiers, France,
                      and which I successfully completed.


(k) 1983-1986         I continued with my Doctorate research studies at the University of Poitiers
                      France.


(1) 17th April 1986 I defended my Doctorate Thesis entitled "The Determination of Velocity
                      Fields in Newtonian and Non-Newtonian Lubricating Films" and I was
                      awarded my Doctorate degree after a successful defense.


(m) 20th April 1986 I came back and resumed my work as a lecturer in the Department of
                      Mechanical Engineering at the University of Nairobi.


(o) August 1983- I was appointed and served as the Chairman of the Department of Mechanical 3rd
   August 1998 Engineering at the University of Nairobi.

(p) 1st July 1994   I was appointed and served as the officer in charge of the University Garage
   Dec 1999          and University Transport section where I took care of the maintenance of the
                     whole fleet of University vehicles (about 200 vehicles) as well as the daily
                      management of these vehicles. I also took responsibility of managing two
                     university fuel stations (One in the main campus and another in Upper Kabete
                     Campus and another in Upper Kabete Campus). These three sections had
                     mechanics, drivers, secretaries and clerks (about 100 in total)


(q) 1996-1999         I was appointed and served as member of Board of Directors of Kenya
                      Railways Corporation.


(r) 1st April 1998 I acted as Dean of Faculty of Engineering at the University of Nairobi. The 31st
    June 1998 substantive Dean had travelled out of the country.


(s) 5rh July 1998    I acted as Principal, College of Architecture & Engineering. The substantive 11th
    July 1998        Principal had travelled out of the country for a conference.


(t) 261' March 1999 I was appointed and served as Acting Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at 28th
   Feb 2000         the University of Nairobi.


(u) 21st Dec 1999    I was appointed to the position of Associate Professor in the Department of
                       Mechanical Engineering at the University of Nairobi.


(v) 1st Feb 2000       I took Sabbatical Leave from the University of Nairobi.


(w) Feb 2000-         I was appointed and served as Associate Professor in the Faculty of
   30th May 2002      Technology (Department of Electro-mechanical Engineering) and Head of
                      Academic Affairs (Chief Academic Officer) at the Kigali Institute of Science,
                      Technology and Management (KIST) in Kigali, Rwanda.


(x) 30"' May 2002 I was appointed and served as Director for Research and Publication and also 15th
    June 2004       continued with my teaching duties as Associate Professor in the Faculty of
    Technology (Department of Electromechanical Engineering at the Kigali Institute of Science
    Technology and Management (KIST) in Kigali Rwanda.

(y) 15th June 2004   I resigned from Kigali Institute of Science, Technology and Management
                        (KIST) and rejoined my position in the Department of Mechanical
                        Engineering at the University of Nairobi.

         painting) repair of punctures and general servicing of university vehicles (buses, lorries, pickups)


• Coordinate and supervise the efficient use of University transport for university activities (i.e
   ferrying of students for classes, academic trips, trips for games, as well as trips funerals for families
   of members of staff and students)
• Oversee the recruitment and appointment of mechanics, drivers, clerks, secretaries e.t.c
• Oversee the promotion of mechanics, drivers, clerks, secretaries e.t.c
