A Sparkling Event: ANWC Holiday Party Dec. 14th
This fun, festive tradition brings members together to welcome the holidays. This year, ANWC is
supporting an important charity – The Children’s Inn at NIH. The Inn is a respite for children and their families
who stay together while participating in groundbreaking medical treatment at the National Institutes of Health in
Bethesda. Vice President of Communications Meredith Carlson Daly, who is the Media Relations Manager at The
Inn, will be bringing longtime Inn Board Member Molly Mahoney Matthews to speak about The Inn. Club
members are asked to bring as a donation a supermarket food gift card from the Giant or Shoppers Food

Through the generosity of ANWC Board Member Anne Ganz, the Holiday Party will feature a small exhibition of the private holiday cards of
cartoonist Denys Wortman. Mr. Wortman worked from 1924-1954 for New York City papers, syndicated nationally. The Museum of the City
of New York just opened the exhibit "Denys Wortman Rediscovered," which runs through March 2011.
Holiday Party is $30 for members, $20 for students. Please RSVP by Dec. 10 to Club Manager Janna Van Hoven at clubmanager@anwclub.org.
