       Ramps, Accessible Bathrooms, Weatherization, Etc.

There are several programs that provide help with home
modifications in the Broome County area.

This guide was compiled by the:
                   Southern Tier Independence Center
                        135 E. Frederick Street
                         Binghamton, NY 13904
                                724-2111

The purpose of this guide is to give the client a place to start in identifying
a program that he or she might be eligible for. Clients or caseworkers
should contact the individual programs to obtain further information and to
apply for services.

It is complete as of December 2009 to the best of our knowledge.
Programs are dependent on funding – an existing program may be
discontinued or a new program created. To make corrections to this guide,
please contact STIC.

Most grant-funded programs are restricted to certain age groups, locations
and income levels. You will be asked for this information when you apply.
Income guidelines may change each year. The demand is great and there
may be a waiting list for services, even if you are eligible.
